😁🦷 Smile Day in Preschool! 🦷😁

Today we’ve been celebrating Smile Day with lots of fun activities all about looking after our teeth and keeping our smiles healthy! 🪥🦷 We’ve been learning about brushing our teeth over the last couple of weeks, talking about healthy smiles and, of course, sharing lots of smiles around the nursery! 😊

You’ll also spot some photos from other days included in this post. 📸 These aren’t all from today — we wanted to show that we don’t just smile on Smile Day… every day is a smile day here at nursery! 💛

🌿🌳 Discovering our limits! 🌳🌿

What a fantastic morning of outdoor exploration in our preschool room! 💚 The children had lots of fun climbing, balancing and then taking the exciting leap of jumping off different things in our garden! 🧗‍♀️✨

Forest School gives our children wonderful opportunities to test their limits, challenge themselves and develop confidence. Through safe risk-taking, they are learning what their bodies can do, recognising their own boundaries and understanding when something might be a little too challenging. 🌱

The children were encouraged to think about how they could explore safely, make sensible choices and consider the space around them. It was lovely to see them supporting and encouraging one another while having lots of fun! 🥰

Sometimes the best learning happens when we climb a little higher, challenge ourselves and discover what we are capable of! 🌳💚

🐀 Our visit from Zoo Lab! 🐍

Today the children had some very interesting visitors as zoo lab came to see us! The children enjoyed a lovely story all about the slithery, slimy, jumpy and furry animals that joined us. They had the opportunity to touch and to hold some of the animals and they learned some fascinating facts!

Tweenies have been at it again. The team have been working hard to create new and exciting areas for their little ones to explore and love. They’ve placed a huge focus on loose parts and open ended resources, meaning all the children can play and learn in their own unique ways 🥰

🌧️ It’s officially puddle suit and welly season! 🌧️

Preschool had so much fun enjoying some outdoor play today! 🥰☔️

Luckily, our children are not afraid of a little mud or getting messy in the rain! 🌧️🪣 They embraced the weather and had the BEST time splashing, exploring and getting stuck into some messy outdoor fun.

It was lovely to see the pure joy on their faces as they jumped in puddles, squelched through the mud and explored everything the great outdoors had to offer. 💦🌿

Sometimes the best learning happens when we’re outside, getting muddy, making memories and having lots of fun! ❤️

🌳🍂 Forest School Fun! 🍂🌳

Yesterday, Preschool enjoyed exploring the great outdoors on our woodland walk, taking in everything around us and seeing what we could discover. We had lots of fun swinging, climbing and balancing, and even had a go on the hammock swing 🌳🪵🪢

Our little explorers also became mini beast detectives! 🐞🦋🕷️ We investigated the tiny creatures we found along the way, looking closely at where they lived and talking about what we could see. 🔍🍃

There were lots of smiles, laughter and plenty of opportunities to be curious, adventurous and brave 💚

On the 10th September Food Hygiene turned up, unexpected, to carry out their annual checks on our kitchen and wider premise. Becka was in the kitchen that day, and as usual (as they always tend to come on a day she’s covering in there), she smashed it!

😁 Tooth brushing 😁

Our teeth are so important to us especially as we grow as they shape our speech abilities. After a recent visit from Lindsay, an oral health expert, we are very excited to introduce teeth brushing into our daily routine. Each child will now have their individual toothbrush kept here in the room and will be given the opportunity to show us their skills after snacktime, while brushing along to a demostrative song.
Toddlers have taken it in their stride and have been so eager to polish their pearly whites!
We will be continuing to explore oral health/hygiene with them over the coming weeks with fun and interactive activities 😁
