🐛🌿 What a fantastic Hungry Caterpillar Stay & Play! 🌿🐛

We had such a lovely time at our Very Hungry Caterpillar themed Stay & Play, with lots of exciting, hands-on activities for our children and families! 🍎🦋

🎨 We created colourful caterpillars using potato printing

🦋 We explored the life cycle of a caterpillar, looking at our very own real caterpillars that had now formed cocoons and talking about what was happening to them

🐞 We searched for minibeasts in our tuff tray, exploring what we could find and talking about the different creatures

🍚 We enjoyed filling and pouring our rice caterpillar, developing our fine motor skills while talking about all the different foods the Hungry Caterpillar ate

🌈 We had lots of fun mixing colours in shaving foam, creating a wonderful messy and sensory experience

📚 We also enjoyed talking about The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the different foods he ate throughout the story.

It was wonderful to welcome so many new families and children into our setting, and we loved seeing everyone getting involved, exploring, creating and having fun together! 💕

🌿 We're Going on a Bear Hunt Stay & Play 🐻💚

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Stay & Play afternoon! It was wonderful to welcome so many families from our local community for an afternoon full of fun, exploration and learning together.

A special thank you to the lovely family who attended one of our previous Stay & Play sessions and kindly donated our giant teddy bear. He was definitely the star of the afternoon! 🧸❤️

Inspired by We're Going on a Bear Hunt, each child collected an adventure checklist and explored every tuff tray before following the bear footprints to discover the BIG bear hiding in our cosy cave!

Our little adventurers enjoyed:�🌾 Long, wavy grass with scissor control and musical pots and pans.�🪲 A dark forest full of mini beasts, where we also planted flowers and plants.�💦 A deep, cold river water tray.�🤎 A thick, oozy mud tray.�🕳️ A narrow, gloomy cave, where children enjoyed sharing books with their parents and carers.�🌸 Nature painting using real flowers and natural materials.

These hands-on activities supported children's fine motor skills, communication, creativity, sensory exploration and confidence, all through the joy of play.

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as the children completed their adventure, ticked off each activity and finally found the giant bear waiting in the cave. 🐻✨
