Some of our lock down activities and the first week of holidays.

This made me cry 😭 not my words.

The Rainbow Children 🌈❤️

The history books will talk of now,
That time the world stood still.
When every family stayed at home,
Waved out from windowsills-
At those they loved but could not hold,
Because they loved them so.
Yet, whilst they did they noticed all the flowers start to grow.

The sun came out, they can recall,
And windows, rainbows filled.
They kicked a football in their yards,
Until the night drew in.
They walked each day but not too close,
That time the world stood still.
When people walked straight down the roads,
That once the cars did fill.

They saw that people became ill,
They knew the world was scared.
But whilst the world stood still they saw,
How much the whole world cared.
They clapped on Thursdays from their doors,
They cheered for the brave.
For people who would risk their lives,
So others could be saved.

The schools closed down, they missed their friends,
They missed their teachers so.
Their M**s and Dads helped with their work,
They helped their minds to grow.
The parents used to worry that,
As schools were put on hold,
Their children wouldn’t have the tools,
They’d need as they grew old.

But history books will talk of them,
Now adults, fully grown.
Those little boys and girls back then,
The ones who stayed at home.
They’ll tell you that they fixed this world,
Of all they would fulfill.
The RAINBOW children building dreams,
They’d dreamed whilst time stood still 🌈

We are all in this together, community spirit can be restored if we all look out for each other ❤️

This is where I am at at the moment, some of the decisions have been really difficult and I am totally drained with the whole situation. More will follow later today but will update as things are put into place, the key reason is the safety of EVERYONE at this worrying time.

Children of key workers will be given the opportunity to attend my setting for the day :-

* Parents of Children who previously only attended before and after school will not face higher care fees- I have waived these as this situation is nobody’s fault, we all have to stay safe and help each other to ensure things get back to normal ASAP.
I have had a very troubled weekend trying to plan how best to support parents and keep everyone safe at the same time.
I keep reading all the news and the nhs professional posts about staying isolated,and
I have Been forced to make the decision that if a child is accessing school during this outbreak then I will not be able to offer wrap around care. I do not understand how being in a classroom with many others could possibly keep them safe, some have good immunity but others won’t and I can’t risk it being carried into my setting- especially where other parents have rejected the place and are sending them here instead,where there will be a maximum of 6.
I understand this may cause problems but please be assured that I haven’t made this decision lightly. 😫😘😘😘x
From Monday the 23rd I will put in place a doorstop drop off and collection policy.
Your child will be taken from you at the door, hands washed and settled into activities, at collection they will be handed back to you in the same way. I hate to put this in place and it will be removed as soon as possible,however safety is paramount and reducing the number off people over the doorstep is one way of minimising risk.
Duty of care to your children and my family is absolutely paramount, so please support me where you can.
I will provide food this week but as situations change I may need to ask for you to provide packed lunches for your child.
