We're hiring an Additional Learning Support Team Leader!

Are you passionate about supporting learners to achieve their full potential? We're looking for an experienced and dedicated professional to lead our Additional Learning Support Team and make a real difference to students with additional support needs.

In this role, you'll oversee the delivery of high-quality learner support, collaborate with curriculum teams, external agencies and families, and lead a dedicated team of Learning Support Assistants.

✅ Up to £31,453 per annum
✅ Full-time, fixed-term maternity cover
✅ 37 hours per week
✅ 30 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays

Students from Middlesbrough College's Art & Design and Fashion Communication departments are exhibiting their own work as part of Middlesbrough Art Week and the Turner Prize's arrival in the region! 🎨

The students have joined MIMA's Little Boro exhibition, a temporary village of shipping containers packed with work from the region's creative community.

Kelly Lisle, Work Experience and Industry Placement Team Leader at Middlesbrough College, said: "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students. To have something as prestigious as the Turner Prize on our doorstep, while giving them the chance to showcase their talent to the thousands of people descending on our fantastic town, is incredibly exciting."

Middlesbrough College is set to play a leading role in shaping vocational and technical skills across the North East after being named the area’s Technical and Vocational Excellence (TVE) Hub by the Association of Colleges!

As one of only nine TVE Hubs nationwide, Middlesbrough will help drive improvements in technical education across the region, working closely with schools, colleges, training providers, employers and industry partners to ensure learners develop the skills local businesses need now and in the future.

Our Head Chef, Jon Appleby, led a fantastic demonstration at the Stokesley Show last weekend! 🧑‍🍳

Jon works in our onsite Waterside Brasserie and brings years of experience from some of the region's top restaurants and major food festivals. He now shares his knowledge and skills with the next generation of chefs at Middlesbrough College.

For the demonstration, Jon prepared a delicious dish of sea trout with beetroot and fennel, served with orange and trim salad.

He was joined by one of our talented students, Nathaniel Atkinson, who is currently studying Level 3 Kitchen and Larder, after previously completing his Level 2 Professional Cookery course.

It was a fantastic showcase of talent at Middlesbrough College, as well as the amazing dishes that can be created using the wonderful local produce our region has to offer!

This week we had the first teaching day for our Uniformed Public Services students, and what an introduction to the course it was!

We were delighted to welcome the British Army, who put our students through their paces with a range of challenging teamwork and leadership activities.

The students showed some fantastic enthusiasm, communication and determination throughout the activities, working together and demonstrating the qualities needed for a career in the Uniformed Services.

A brilliant first day, and a great start to what promises to be an exciting year. Well done to all of our students!

Celebrating Middlesbrough FC's 150th anniversary through dance at the Riverside!

On Saturday 17th October, our students will take to the pitch at the Riverside Stadium as part of Middlesbrough Football Club’s 150th anniversary celebrations with TeesDance.

They’ll be joining 300+ dancers from across the Tees Valley for a special performance celebrating 150 years of MFC.

We can’t wait to see them in action! 💙
