Brambles Primary Academy

Brambles Primary Academy Brambles Primary Academy is an Outstanding Academy in the Brambles Farm area of Middlesbrough.

Brambles Primary Academy, part of Tees Valley Education, is proud to be an inclusive place for children to learn, and we welcome pupils from a wide range of backgrounds who come together here to share new experiences and learn from one another. We want all of our children to feel welcomed, happy and fulfilled. We recognise that all children are different and that these differences create opportunities for adults and children alike to learn more about each other and themselves. Helping children in developing good attitudes and values is an important feature of our work. We are proud of our academy and particularly of our children, who are its most effective ambassadors, both inside and outside the academy.

Buenos tardes todos!

We have had a very busy week here at Brambles, on Wednesday our Year 5 children went on a visit to Segedunum, a Roman Fort on Hadrian’s Wall. The visit links to both the work they have been doing linked to Roman Britain but also to our core values of resilience and teamwork. On Thursday, our Year 4 children were given the opportunity to be the first school to attend MIMA on the opening day of the Turner Prize, the most famous modern art award in the world. Our reception teams held a reading afternoon with parents and children both invited to take part in some activities in school. On Friday, our Year 6 pupils again took part in an art project called Little Boro which is held in the centre square in town. Our whole school today also celebrated European Language Day, with all pupils taking part in activities and experiences linked to a European Country and Language such as Norward, Spain and France.

Well done to our attendance winners 5H with 100% for the week.

Next week, we are hosting our NHS Immunisations on Monday, we have a phonics parent meeting for Year 1 on Thursday at 9.15am and on Friday, Reception have an afternoon visit to Stewart Park.

Have a wonderful weekend. ¡Adios!

Afternoon all,

We have had a busy couple of weeks. This week we had pupils take part in the KS2 Cross Country Competition at Lift Unity City and represented the school incredibly well. We had a massively successful Macmillan Coffee Morning this morning with so many of you coming to join us for a drink and a cake so thank you for coming in. Last week, we had our Year 6 trip to Alton Towers which the children loved and allowed them to really show Teamwork throughout what was a long day and on the Monday we had a company come in to show off a production of Treasure Island for all of Year 1 up to Year 6.

This week we have celebrated our core value of kindness which linked directly to our Macmillan Coffee Morning and well done to 3B for winning our attendance competition this week with 97%.

Next week, we are looking forward to the Year 5 visit to Segedunum, the Year 4 visit to the opening day of the Turner Prize at MIMA, our Jungle Fest kitchen theme day and our European Languages Day celebration.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Mr Mayle

Afternoon all,

We have had a great first full week back in the academy, with some great learning and experiences going on.

Year 3 started the week by becoming archaeologists, hunting through our outdoor areas for artefacts from the Stone Age. They followed this up on Thursday with a visit to Holy Trinity Church, where they learned about Christianity and were asking some great questions of the vicar.

Today we had a whole-school Sinfield Burrow Day. This was a day celebrating our two representatives of our Teamwork value: Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow. They learned about the two men, what they have done throughout both their careers but also how they worked together to not only raise money for but also awareness of Motor Neurone Disease after Rob was diagnosed with the disease.

Well done to all our Core Value Champions celebrated for demonstrating Teamwork across the week and our Attendance Champions 6L and Afternoon Nursery who achieved an incredible 100% across the week.

Things to look forward to next week are a production of Treasure Island for Year 1-6 in the hall and the Year 6 visit to Alton Towers on Wednesday.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Mr Mayle
