A sad day today which saw the closure of a long-establised and well-loved community infant school. St Michael's has closed its doors for good now. Massive thanks must go to the teachers, children, families, governors and everyone else who has supported the school over its many years. Best wishes to all

Year 1 and Year R have been learning about artist Marc Quinn today and looking at his bread sculptures. With Miss Langthrone they've made their own bread hand sculptures which taste as delicious as they look! πŸ–πŸ–

And thats us done for another term! How time flies!

We ended with a lovely church service this afternoon with Sandra, the pupils sang brilliantly and Year 2 told the story of Christmas.

Wishing everyone peace and happiness during the festive season and a very merry Christmas!

We had a really special time on Friday at our famous Christmas Storytelling Evening.

All the children came back to school in their pj's and travelled round fairylit cosy classrooms and were read festive stories by teachers and governors - including Trumpers, our school dog! They made a stained glass tree decorations and gingerbread biscuits and all had tremendous fun.

Meanwhile in the hall, they parents were chatting and drinking mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Thank you so much to the staff, governors and Friends who gave up their spare time to organise such a lovely event. Always a highlight of our school year!

We had loads of fun at our Christmas craft workshop this morning followed by a lovely Christingle service at St Michael's church, Mickleham. It was great to watch the videos of our school kids singing some Christmas songs and to meet some of the families hoping to join us in September!

A huge thank you to Craft Queen Francesca who worked so hard to make the event happen!

Our friends Mrs Smyth and Trumpers came to visit us today. They come in regularly as part of Therapy Dogs Nationwide and listen to the children reading. Trumpers is the kindest listener and makes even the most nervous reader more confident! He looked super smart and snuggly today in his special St Michael's school jumper!!

We're so lucky to have our very own school dog!
