💖✨ AUNTIE DEE ✨💖

As well as saying goodbye to our school leavers yesterday we also had to say an emotional goodbye to our wonderful Auntie Dee 🥹

She has been a part of our pre-school for 18 years 🌟 Auntie Dee started out on our committee when her own children attended Metheringham pre-school and then for the past 16 years she has been one of our wonderful Aunties.
Auntie Dee you have been an asset for our pre-school and we have been lucky to have you. You have shaped many a children’s life’s and I know I speak on behalf of lots of families when i say we are thankful for the difference you have made.

😍 Thank you for your years of commitment and dedication to Metheringham pre-school 😍 Enjoy your well deserved time for you and your lovely family.

Wow!!! What a goodbye to our school leavers at our graduation yesterday. There were smiles, laughter and tears as we celebrated all they have achieved on their pre-school journey 🥹💙💛🧸
We are beyond proud of them all and so grateful that we have had the pleasure of seeing them grow and develop into the wonderful individuals they are 😍

Thank you family and friends for joining us and for your continued support!

We wish them all the best of luck as they start their next chapter at ‘Big school’. Have a wonderful summer holiday together and keep being ‘GOLDEN’!

WOW! It’s finally here - our Pre-School graduation day 🎉😊
We can’t wait to celebrate our amazing school leavers.
Families and friends of the school leavers we will see you at 1:15pm for our graduation 🧑‍🎓🌟

✨Parent reminder - our session for younger children ends at 12pm today. If your child is a school leaver and it isn’t their normal session today please bring them to the kitchen door for 1pm ✨

We are busy enjoying our last days together before the summer holidays! Please see the poster for reminders of important dates and times. This is also displayed on our parent information board 😊

Again, thank you so much to all our children’s families and friends for their sponsorship for the teddy toddle and your support for our pre-school! We are truly grateful for you all 💙 This money will go back into our pre-school to provide new resources for the children to support their learning and development 😊

🌤️🍃 Outdoor play and learning 🍃🌤️

Another week full of sunshine, fun and exploration outside. This weeks play and learning invitations for the children included:

🅿️🚙🚘 Cars and garage with ramps
🚧👷 Duplo to create their own vehicles
🪣🪏🏺Sand play with miniature filling, scooping and pouring resources
📚🪑Story corner
⭕️✨ Hula hoops
🔵🔴🪣 coloured balls and guttering

The children have also had the opportunity to explore Pom Poms in ice this week ❄️🧊
So many wonderful learning opportunities - talking about ice, exploring how it changes form, working as a team to try and get the Pom Poms out, observing changes and developing vocabulary. The fun didn’t end there! Once the Pom Poms were out children explored them in water watching if they would float or sink, transporting them, catching them with sieves and filling and pouring using containers! What wonderful scientists this week 🌟🧑‍🔬

We’ve spent lots of time inside keeping cool and exploring the play activities. This weeks play and learning opportunities:

🐾🐯 Building animal enclosures - exploring space and shapes, problem solving, naming animals and sharing our knowledge of different types of animals, sorting and classifying and working together

✂️📦 Junk modelling - practicing scissor skills, discovering how to join materials together, talking about shape and size, recognising logos and having ideas and thinking how they will achieve them using available resources.

🧑‍🌾🐴🐷 Farm small world - sharing own experiences, counting and matching amounts to numerals, using number language in play, recognising and naming animals, babies and sounds they make and exploring space by fitting objects in spaces.

✏️✍️ Tracing - exploring mark making, recognising names, beginning to form letters and developing pencil grip

🧸🧺🍽️ Teddy bears picnic - engaging in co-operative play, exploring sharing, halving and problem solving in play, role playing own experiences and communicating likes and dislikes of food.

☀️😎🍃 FUN IN THE SUN 🍃😎☀️

Another week fun of sunshine! Thank you for your continued support in applying suncream before the pre-school session and providing children with sun hats, sun cream and water bottles 😊

We are very lucky to have a canopy to give us some shade outside and have been enjoying our outdoor area before it gets too hot.

This weeks play and learning invitations:

✍️🎨 mark making with chalk
🚜🛞 Digger play
🫧🫧 Bubbles and bubble making tuff tray
🌹🌸 Potion/perfume making
📚🪑 Books fir stories in the shade

We’ve also been enjoying our snack times outdoors in the shade 😊
