Here’s what we’ve been up to -
🫐 Barefoot - crushing blackberries with your bare feet or using our hands to crush them.
🫐 Structures - Mice love berries so we created a pretend structure for a mouse to live in.
🫐 Count - We lined the berries up and counted them slowly.
🫐 Measure - We ordered the berries in size? Small and Large.
🫐 Movement - We went for a walk in search of wild berries.
🫐 Craft - we crushed blackberries and used them to mark make.

The biggest Happy Birthday to our very special Deputy Manager, Charlie! 💚🎉

Charlie brings so much joy, excitement and laughter to the children’s day. She has a wonderful way of making every moment feel special, whether she’s creating exciting activities and adventures or simply sharing her fantastic line-dancing moves with the children👢 💃

Her enthusiasm is truly infectious, and she puts so much thought and care into creating experiences that the children can enjoy and remember. Charlie goes above and beyond to make sure they have fun, feel included and, most importantly, create beautiful memories that they will treasure. Her warmth, creativity and genuine love for making the children happy make her such a special part of their lives. 🌈✨

Wishing our wonderful Hayley Morg a very big Happy Birthday! 🥳

Today we’re celebrating our wonderful Nursery Manager and cook, who has given an incredible 30 years of memories, laughter and dedication to our nursery and all the children who have passed through our doors! ❤️As Hayley would say, after 30 years she probably “belongs in St Fagans”! 😂

She is hardworking, determined and someone we are extremely lucky to have as part of our nursery family. We also have to give an honourable mention to her fantastic cooked dinners and vegetable soup — it wouldn’t be a post about Hayley without them! 👩‍🍳

And who could forget her favourite solution when the Biffa is full… “Who’s turn is it to jump in it?” 😂🗑️

We hope you have the loveliest birthday, Hayley, and get thoroughly spoiled — you deserve it! 🥳🫶🏻

Here’s what we’ve been upto -
🪰- Wild ITP 2 - Creating an open ended art opportunity to create an observation of the dragonfly, with pastels.
🍃- Structures - Adding small world insects and blue fabric to our block play outdoors.
🪰- Movement - Climbing onto the bridge and sitting at the side of the pond to watch the pond life.
🍃- Meditation - Imagining we are beautiful dragonflies fluttering about the sky.
🪰- Crates - Setting up a small world pond area with logs, lilypads, rocks and small world pond life.

Here’s what we’ve been upto -
🍃- Wild ITP - Setting up an opportunity to create some transient art work with the sunflower parts.
🌻- Wild Water - Adding yellow paint, water and sunflower petals to our outdoor tea set, to make sunflower tea in a large pan.
🍃- Storytelling - Taking a collection of storytelling characters in the garden with some sunflowers, and seeing how the beautiful flowers inspire story telling.
🌻- Hook - Visiting a florist to find sunflowers, talking about their beauty and colours.
🍃- Tuff Tray - Dissecting sunflowers and exploring the parts of the flower, using various tools.
🌻- Mark Making - Mark making with a paintbrush dipped in yellow paint, and a cotton bud dipped in black paint.
🍃- Crates - An invitation to explore sunflowers, with stories, bees and flowers.

Here’s what we’ve been upto -
🪨- Mini Beach - the children visited a mini beach and enjoyed building sandcastles.
💧- Your Window - a discovery tray was set up using different shell types on a mirror for the children to have a go at making patterns.
🪨- Storytelling - Creating a rock pool with sand, pebbles, sea creatures and a little bit of water.
💧- Maths Opportunities - Going on a maths treasure hunt by the river, to find a piece of driftwood, 2 small pebbles, 3 big pebbles.
🪨- Mindfulness - Rockpools lying down and imagining that your are lying on the warm sand and what sound we can here.
💧- Craft - Using paper and crayons to make shell rubbings.

Here’s what we’ve been upto -
🌻- Your Window - Adding a little yellow and green tinker tray of objects to play with outdoors. Using a mirrored tray to provide a beautiful reflection.
🍃- Wild Urban - Creating some art work using oil pastels, using the work of Van Goghs sunflowers art work, as inspiration.
🌻- Mud Kitchen - Making sunflower cakes and buns using mud, petals and seeds. Adding baking equipment to extend our play.
🍃- Literacy Opportunity - Taking the letter S out into nature and seeing what we can find that matches the letter and the sound it makes.
🌻- Mark Making - Mark making with a paintbrush dipped in yellow paint, and a cotton bud dipped in black paint.
🍃- Crates - An invitation to explore sunflowers, with stories, bees and flowers.
