🎶 CAST ARE PROUD TO BE PERFORMING AT ‘AN EVENING OF SOLIDARITY’! 🚩✊🏻🎭🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We’re delighted to share that some of our CAST performers will be singing at 'An Evening of Solidarity' later this month, supporting 'Iniquity – The People’s Film’, and helping celebrate a story rooted right here in Merthyr Tydfil.

The evening will bring our community together for live music, poetry, performances and talks, exploring the meaning of solidarity and what the story of Dic Penderyn represents in today’s world.

Merthyr has always been a town built on community, pride and standing together, and we’re incredibly proud that CAST will be playing a small part in what promises to be a very special evening.

📅 Friday 30 October 2026
📍 Merthyr Tydfil Labour Club
🕖 7pm till late
🎟️ £5 entry on the door
🏆 Plus some incredible prizes to be won!

All proceeds from the evening will support the Crowdfunder Calon Films fundraising campaign for 'Iniquity – The People’s Film’, helping bring this important Merthyr story closer to the big screen.

Come along, support the campaign and hear our CAST performers sing songs from our most recent production of Les Miserables: Student Edition! 🎭🎶

Bring your friends, bring your family and bring your Merthyr Pride. We’d LOVE to see lots of our CAST family there supporting the evening! ❤️

Just over a week since the barricade came down for the last time.

Just over a year ago, the idea entered my mind that I had a cast capable of pulling off this incredible, 41 year old musical.

Ten to eleven months of rehearsals, an honour and a privilege to share the rehearsal room with such talent.

From an incredibly proud director, there are so many thank yous I need to say.

Firstly, to the Beaufort Theatre for giving these young people a fantastic performance venue and space for an orchestra to really let their voices shine.

Thank you to our incredible band, who played so beautifully.

To Sarah of Behind the Seams, who worked tirelessly to provide the costumes which made our cast look so perfect. ♥️

Thank you to all our volunteers who helped backstage; wigs, fast changes, calming nerves, maintaining order!

To Matt on lights, (which looked insane), Neal on sound (also incredible), and to all the people who spent countless hours raising our barricade to fantastic heights. Thank you. It all looked amazing.

To our audiences, who gave a standing ovation at every show, who made all the hard work worth it and supported our hugely talented cast. You are all wonderful, thank you.

Jonathan, for the endless patience, the care and attention you gave to every cast member and for ensuring they always had a chance to make the singing the very best it could be.

Ethan and Chezzy; countless hours, endless stress, blood, sweat and tears. I couldn’t do any of this without you. This has truly been the best one yet.

David, my rock. The one who keeps me sane. Who has spent months sharing how talented these young people are to ensure they had the audience they deserved. And the one who swept me off my feet and gave us all the perfect finale. I love you.

Finally, to the indescribable cast of Les Miserables 2026. I am constantly amazed at you all. Endlessly proud. So grateful that I get to share your talent with everyone through shows that you bring spectacularly to life. CAST is family. I can’t wait to start all over again with the next one!
