We were delighted to attend the Medr HE and FE Employability Community of Practice event yesterday at Swansea University, to showcase the success of our Business Fintech Academy.
Developed in partnership with FinTech Wales and supported by leading industry organisations, the academy is delivering high-impact, real-world learning experiences that equip our learners with the skills needed for one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.
A key focus of our showcase was how we have embedded authentic employer engagement throughout the programme, alongside cutting-edge AI, data and digital skills. Through live industry projects, employer-led sessions and micro-credentials in areas such as AI, data analysis and cloud computing, our learners are gaining the knowledge, confidence and networks needed to succeed in the modern workplace.
We are proud to be leading the way with this Academy, ensuring our learners are not only prepared for the future of work—but are ready to shape it.

🏒 Congratulations to Joseff Brickell!
A huge congratulations to Joseff Brickell, one of our student-athletes at The College Merthyr Tydfil, who recently helped the Junior Cardiff Devils become UK Champions.
Joseff combines his A-Level studies with a demanding ice hockey schedule and is a great example of what can be achieved through hard work and commitment. He has been fully engaged with the College’s TASS Dual Career Programme, which supports learners in balancing their education alongside high-level sport.
Everyone at the College is incredibly proud of Joseff and this fantastic achievement. Well done, Joseff! 👏🏆
