IA 1.3 - Teaching and learning - Children develop positive attitudes to learning

On Friday, our Nursery SJ 🌈 children had a fantastic trip to Planet Play πŸš€πŸͺAlthough we were originally planning a visit to the beach, the weather meant a change of plansβ€”but the children still had an amazing time!

Through climbing, balancing, sliding, and exploring, the children developed their physical skills, confidence, communication, and friendships. It was wonderful to see them playing together, supporting one another, and creating lots of happy memories.

A fun-filled day enjoyed by all! 😊 Llawer o hwyl!

This week, Year 2 CE/NB enjoyed taking part in Healthy Eating Week! 🍎πŸ₯•πŸ₯
The children talked about healthy food choices and why it is important to eat a balanced diet. They tasted a range of different fruits and shared their favourites with their friends. πŸ“πŸπŸ‡
The pupils then used their maths skills to create tally charts and graphs showing the most popular fruits in the class. πŸ“ŠπŸ“ˆ
To finish the week, the children designed their own healthy packed lunches, thinking carefully about foods that would help keep them healthy and full of energy. πŸ₯ͺ🍎πŸ₯•
It was a fun week full of learning, discussion and trying new foods. Ardderchog pawb! πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

Unfortunately we are going to reschedule Sports Day on Friday.

The weather forecast for Friday isn’t positive and rain is coming in.

It will be difficult to seat the children safely and it could pose a Health and Safety risk for family members attending.

We will reschedule the Sports Day for Tuesday 23rd June.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this.

This week the children in CE 1 have been busy learning all about how to stay healthy. The children recalled on previous Jigsaw work based on 'staying healthy'. As part of healthy eating week the children explored the 'eat well plate'. They then used this information to create their own healthy lunch box.
The children have also been making healthier choices this week with their snacks and drinks. Da!!!

IA 2.4 - Well-being, care, support and guidance - Children are respected and fairly treated
Despite having to cancel their much-anticipated beach trip due to poor weather, Bridge Class LW quickly turned the day around with an exciting visit to Planet Play. πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰ After travelling there on the big bus, the children arrived full of enthusiasm and ready for adventure.🚌🀩

The soft play centre provided endless opportunities for fun and exploration. πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Ύβ€β™‚οΈ The children climbed, crawled, jumped, raced through obstacles, zoomed down slides, and enjoyed energetic games of football.⚽🀸 Their laughter and excitement filled the play area as they challenged themselves, built confidence, and enjoyed spending time with their friends.πŸ˜„πŸ€—

After working up an appetite, everyone sat down together to enjoy toast and a drink before heading back to school. πŸ˜‹πŸ₯ͺ Although the day did not go quite as planned, it turned into a fantastic experience filled with fun, friendship, and plenty of happy memories.πŸ’–πŸ˜Š

Year 2AC have been working with Lynsey from the Merthyr Kerbcraft Scheme over the past few weeks. During this time, the children have successfully completed road safety training and learned how to cross roads safely and confidently.

Developing road safety awareness is an important life skill, and we are very proud of how well the children engaged with the programme. Well done, Year 2AC!
