We are delighted to have finally had the go ahead to welcome pupils back to school tomorrow, 3rd September.
Internally, the new school building is functioning well and ready for our pupils. However, there are still some ongoing works taking place externally. These are mainly focused on the road outside the school, where a three-way traffic light system is currently in operation, and within the school grounds, where the exceptionally hot weather over the summer has unfortunately affected planting and seeding.
Due to the roadworks, we strongly encourage as many families as possible to walk to school where they can. Please note that a pedestrian footpath diversion is currently in place. Please follow the signed pedestrian diversion routes when travelling to and from the school.
To support everyone on their first day, members of staff will be positioned along the routes to help guide pupils and families around the school site. Please stay on paths and keep your children off unseeded areas.
Breakfast Club will be open from 8:00am, and staff will be available to direct pupils to the correct entrance. For pupils not attending Breakfast Club, classroom doors will open at 8:35am (with gates opening at 8:30am). Again, staff will direct you. School will begin promptly at 8:45am.
At the end of the day, Reception to Year 2 pupils will be dismissed at 3:05pm (Nursery parents will be dojoβd information shortly), with Junior pupils dismissed at 3:10pm. This arrangement will allow parents and carers with children in both phases to collect their younger children first.
We appreciate that the delayed roadworks and the impact of the unusually hot weather on the grounds are frustrating. Unfortunately, these are matters beyond the school's control. Nevertheless, we have worked incredibly hard to ensure that the school is ready to welcome pupils, and we are very much looking forward to seeing them tomorrow.
Please bear with us during these first few days as everyone becomes familiar with the new site and over the next few weeks as the external work is completed.
Your patience, understanding and support are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
