Cyfarthfa Park Primary

Cyfarthfa Park Primary Cyfarthfa Park Primary School is in Merthyr Tydfil. The school operates on two separate sites that are approximately half a mile apart.

The school was formed in September 2014 when Brecon Road Infant School and Cyfarthfa Junior School amalgamated. There are 417 pupils on roll aged 3 to 11, including 58 part-time pupils in the Nursery class.

Day 12- Food and Fun!
We've had a wonderful 12 days learning about keeping ourselves healthy and learning new skills. We finished our 2026 Food and Fun sessions with a circus skills session and lots of smiles. Diolch yn fawr to all who have attended and to all our staff and external providers for helping to make Food and Fun such a wonderful provision for the children. Have a great summer everyone ☀️

Day 11- We became Food and Fun orienteering detectives! We solved clues and used maps to find our way around Cyfarthfa Park. We had fun completing challenges at each station and collected letters that spelt out 'BWYD A HWYL'. We enjoyed a lovely fruit snack in the woods and a delicious lasagne or jacket potato for our lunches.

Day 10 Food and Fun- Today we had upbeat samba to deliver a fun session, followed by a Teddy bears picnic with lots of yummy fresh fruit snacks. We played party games on the yard and did some creative artwork with googly eyes!

Day 9 Food and Fun- Today we took a stroll to the play park and enjoyed playing on the swings, slides and climbing frame followed by a walk around the woods. We learnt about how food affects our mood and continued with our clay project.

Day 8 of food and fun- Lots of exercise today! We would like to thank Park Run for putting on a fun running session on the pandy. To refuel, we then made healthy wrap pizzas using lots of colourful vegetables. We also squeezed in some art work, making food characters with googly eyes and started our clay project. A busy but fun day!

Day 7 was so much fun! We had line dancing lessons and created some beautiful fruit and veg art work with oil pastels. We learnt all about sugar and finished the day with a walk around the lake and a dance on the yard.

Day 6 of Food and Fun- We played tennis and learnt about Go and Woah foods. A big thank you to Cadw who ran a drama workshop for the pupils too.

Day 5 saw the children putting all the skills they had learnt in football academy into practice with a football tournament. We made our wraps for lunch after designing our own healthy wrap in our craft activity. We also learnt lots about dairy products today in our classroom session. We ended the day by walking around the lake and having races on the pandy!

Day 4 of Food and Fun- Football academy was a great success again today learning all about passing. We made medals and trophies on our cardboard cutter and learnt all about how protein supports our bodies 🫘🍤🐟

Day 3 of food and fun- We tasted lots of different fruits that some of us had never seen before! We practiced our shooting skills in football and used our new cardboard cutting machine to make boomerangs!
