As we have children from a variety of cultures at our preschool, we have been celebrating this diversity by learning a ‘Word of the Week’ from different countries. This week, we have been practising one word from Poland and one from Kenya throughout the week.

Gan fod gennym blant o amrywiaeth o ddiwylliannau yn ein meithrinfa, rydym wedi bod yn dathlu’r amrywiaeth hon drwy ddysgu “Gair yr Wythnos” o wahanol wledydd. Yr wythnos hon, rydym wedi bod yn ymarfer un gair o Wlad Pwyl ac un gair o Kenya drwy gydol yr wythnos.

🌟 The Importance of Speaking Welsh in Our Preschool 🌟

At our preschool, we believe that introducing and using the Welsh language from an early age is so important for our children’s development, identity, and sense of belonging here in Wales.

Speaking Welsh helps children to:

We are very excited to announce that we will now be introducing a Welsh Word of the Week in our setting! Each week, children will learn a new Welsh word, explore its meaning, and use it through play, songs, and daily routines.

This is a fun and meaningful way to bring Cymraeg into everyday learning and help our children become confident, curious language learners. 🌱

This week, our preschool room transformed into a swashbuckling adventure on the high seas! We've been diving deep into tales of pirates 🪝 and mermaids 🧜‍♀️
We explored imagination, storytelling, and all the magic that comes with ocean adventures. We're reading exciting stories, singing sea shanties, and discovering treasures of learning along the way. 💎
It's been absolutely delightful watching their eyes light up as they become pirates and mermaids. ⚓✨

Yr wythnos hon, trawsnewidiwyd ein hystafell feithrin yn antur gyffrous ar y moroedd mawr! Rydym wedi bod yn ymgolli mewn straeon am fôr-ladron 🪝 a môr-forynion 🧜‍♀️.

Buom yn archwilio dychymyg, adrodd straeon, a’r holl hud sy’n dod gyda helyntion ar y môr. Rydym wedi bod yn darllen straeon cyffrous, canu caneuon y môr, a darganfod trysorau dysgu ar hyd y daith. 💎

Mae wedi bod yn hyfryd iawn gwylio eu llygaid yn disgleirio wrth iddynt droi’n fôr-ladron a môr-forynion.

Dive into an underwater adventure! 🌊 Our preschoolers have been exploring the magical world beneath the waves this week. From colorful fish 🐠 to gentle sea turtles 🐢, the children discovered all sorts of ocean friends through songs, stories, and sensory play. We've been splashing around with water activities, creating beautiful ocean crafts 🎨, and learning about the creatures that call the sea home. 🐋
If you'd like to extend the fun at home, try reading ocean-themed books together or having a bubble bath adventure. The ocean has so much to teach us, and our young explorers have absolutely loved every moment of it! 💙

Mae ein plant meithrin wedi bod yn archwilio byd hudolus o dan y tonnau yr wythnos hon. O bysgod lliwgar 🐠 i grwbanod môr tyner 🐢, mae’r plant wedi darganfod pob math o ffrindiau’r cefnfor drwy ganeuon, straeon a chwarae synhwyraidd.

Rydym wedi bod yn mwynhau gweithgareddau dŵr, yn creu crefftau cefnfor hardd 🎨, ac yn dysgu am y creaduriaid sy’n galw’r môr yn gartref iddynt. 🐋

In preschool, children’s voices matter because their thoughts, ideas, feelings, and questions help shape their learning journey. When we truly listen to children, we build their confidence, encourage independence, and show them that their opinions are valued.
