One thing I see often with young guitar players is the difference structure makes.

YouTube can be a great resource, but when children or teenagers try to learn entirely from random videos, they often end up picking up bits and pieces without a clear path. Important fundamentals like rhythm, technique, and chord changes can easily get missed.

A structured approach builds skills in the right order. Students gain confidence, develop good habits, and make steady progress instead of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.

YouTube is a great supplement — but for younger players especially, having guidance and structure can make the whole learning experience far more enjoyable and rewarding.

Rocket Music school got a plug today on Radio Kent this morning! 📻

I was pleased to have the chance to do a short interview for Dominic Kings show this morning all about music shop owner Graham Harmsworth, owner of Music Bay who owned a number of musical instrument shops, one here in Gravesend.

Music bay was a great place to get advice and try out new music gear and meet other musicians. Thanks from all of us to Graham for adding so much to our local music scene and wishing him a well deserved retirement from him Herne bay shop.
