Ysgol Friars Ysgol Friars is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school. We believe that the ethos of Friars is at the heart of its success.

In both recent inspections this received high acclaim. We value our pupils and we expect them to value the school. We believe that the school is a community and that pupils must learn that their actions affect others in that community. We insist upon high standards of dress and behaviour and actively discourage bullying. Equally, good relationships between home and school are vitally important and

we hope we can build a bond that is based on mutual respect and friendly co-operation. As co-partners in the education of your child we aim to make his/her education at Friars a most happy and successful one. Access to many of the school's facilities is provided both at lunchtime and after school, so that a very broad and successful programme of extra-curricular activities takes place every day. The school provides a pleasant and challenging atmosphere, promoting endeavour and high standards. These factors make Friars an extremely effective learning environment. This is reflected in the above average results at Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level results that we achieve. In addition to academic excellence we pride ourselves on nurturing skills required for the world of work. The school has excellent links with industry. Rydym yn casglu barn am ba mor dda y mae Cyngor Gwynedd yn cefnogi ei wasanaethau addysg.

Rydym ni hefyd yn ceisio barn staff, llywodraethwyr, rhieni / gofalwyr, dysgwyr ac unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb mewn addysg.

Mae'n wych gweld nifer o fyfyrwyr presennol (ac ychydig o gyn-fyfyrwyr!) yn cael eu dewis i fynychu cyrsiau preswyl Youth Arts Wales dros yr haf ar gyfer Côr Ieuenctid Cenedlaethol, Band Pres Cenedlaethol a grwpiau Dawns Cenedlaethol Cymru.

residential courses over the summer for the National Youth Choir, Brass Brass Band and Dance groups of Wales

I'n holl ddisgyblion sy'n derbyn eu canlyniadau Lefel A a Lefel AS heddiw, llongyfarchiadau mawr!

Mae eich gwytnwch a'ch gwaith caled wedi talu ar ei ganfed, ac rydym yn hynod falch ohonoch. Mae'r canlyniadau yn adlewyrchu nid yn unig eich llwyddiannau academaidd, ond hefyd yr ymrwymiad rydych wedi'u dangos drwy gydol eich amser gyda ni.

Hoffem hefyd ddiolch i'ch rhieni a'ch gofalwyr am eu hanogaeth a'u cefnogaeth ddiflino dros y blynyddoedd. Ni fyddech wedi gallu cyflawni hyn hebddynt. Estynnwn ein diolch diffuant hefyd i'n staff ymroddedig, y mae eu harweiniad, eu gofal a'u hymrwymiad wedi eich helpu i gyrraedd y garreg filltir bwysig hon.

To all our pupils receiving their A-level and AS-level results, congratulations!

Your resilience, determination and hard work have truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud of you. These results reflect not only your academic achievements, but also the commitment and strength you have shown throughout your time with us.

We would also like to thank your parents and carers for their unwavering encouragement and support over the years. You could not have done it without them. Our heartfelt thanks also go to our dedicated staff, whose guidance, care and commitment have helped you reach this important milestone.

Many of you will now continue your journeys at universities across Wales and further afield, while others will begin apprenticeships, work placements or employment. Whatever path you have chosen, we wish you every happiness and success for the future.
