We are feeling very proud of our new Reception children who have stayed with us for lunch every day this week - which includes walking to and from the Village Hall. We are also incredibly proud of their Y6 buddies who have been amazing, helping keep them safe and showing them what to do.

A new school year!
And just like that, the summer holidays are behind us and we are back in school. We have had a wonderful first few days welcoming all the children back and getting to know all the new faces, including new members of staff - welcome Miss Cross in Reception and Miss Hackney in Class 1! We also have a new class structure and new classrooms, so lots of exciting changes. There has been a wonderful variety of activities going on in school, we have been learning about our refreshed set of Christian Values. We've been writing prayers, starting new books, playing games, creating art and swapping stories from the holidays.

☀️ School’s Out for Summer! ☀️

As another fantastic school year comes to an end, we'd like to wish all our students, families and staff a wonderful summer break filled with fun, relaxation and special memories.

Thank you for all your hard work, achievements and support throughout the year. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on 26th August ready for another exciting year of learning and success.

So proud of our dancing star! 🌟 👏

Three children from the Melton Mowbray area are preparing to take to the stage in a prestigious ballet production of Swan Lake.
Well done to Grace, Millie and Fflur for earning their places in an elite cast with the English Youth Ballet.

We've had a DT frenzy in Base 3 - in the last few days we've had fun baking bread rolls and making hand puppets!

Y6 Adventure Day

We had a fantastic day at the Leicestershire Outdoor Pursuits Centre in beautiful weather. We starting with rifle-shooting, moved on to the dizzying heights of the aerial trek and then after lunch went canoeing. A brilliant way to round off 7 years at Scalford School!

Base 2 Roman Day

The children braved the Mediterranean heat to become Romans for a day at the Village Hall, having great fun learning about soldiers, weapons, buildings, food, money and medicine. The day was run by former Scalford pupil, Jed Jaggard! 🙌

Heat!

This week, we tackled the intense heat by retreating to church in the afternoons. With its space and huge thick stone walls, it was a lovely, cool refuge. It also made a nice change!
