We are delighted to welcome Daniel Rogers, who has joined The Grove as Headteacher for the new academic year, following several years of primary leadership experience in Birmingham, most recently leading a diverse and highly disadvantaged school community.

Daniel brings experience across teaching, inclusion, curriculum development and school improvement, with a particular passion for removing barriers for children while maintaining high expectations. His leadership philosophy is simple: know children well, expect highly and believe in what they can achieve.

Having spent time getting to know The Grove, Daniel has already been impressed by the strength of the school community, the commitment of its staff and the positive relationships that underpin the school. He is looking forward to getting to know children and families and building on the strong foundations already in place.

Away from school, Daniel enjoys spending time with family and friends and walking his two dogs – who remain considerably more interested in treats than school improvement! 🐾

We wish Daniel every success in his new role and look forward to working with him as part of The Grove and Mowbray Education Trust. 👋

As the new academic year gets underway, we have been reflecting on the positive start made across our schools, including the MET Executive Roadshow held on 24 August.

Delivered as part of our Trust-wide INSET programme, the roadshow saw the Executive Team meet with colleagues across the Trust, with primary colleagues gathering at Sherard Primary School and secondary colleagues attending sessions at John Ferneley College and Iveshead School. The presentations provided updates on the Trust’s strategic direction and operational priorities, helping to ensure a shared understanding of our ambitions for the year ahead and the important role every colleague plays in achieving them.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions as we begin another exciting year across Mowbray Education Trust.

Congratulations to the team at Iveshead School, whose A-level results have been highlighted in the Leicester Mercury’s analysis of school results across Leicestershire.

Well done to all the students who received their results, and to the staff and families who have supported them throughout their time at the school.

At Mowbray Education Trust, we remain committed to putting children first and supporting every learner to achieve their potential.

We are pleased to share that Oasis Preschool and Retreat were recently represented at the Ragdale Hall Spa Community Chest Awards by Nursery Manager Maria Twittey and Katie Pollione.

It was a wonderful evening celebrating local community initiatives, and we are very grateful to Ragdale Hall for their continued support through the Community Chest.

Maria applied for funding to develop Family Wellbeing Packs to support families at the Retreat, particularly those with children with SEND needs.

These packs aim to provide practical, accessible resources to support calm, connection and positive routines at home. They will include children’s books focused on emotions and wellbeing, simple sensory resources, activity ideas for families, and small wellbeing items for parents.

This initiative recognises the pressures many families face, including financial challenges and periods of heightened stress, and seeks to offer simple tools that can make a meaningful difference to daily wellbeing.

We are proud of the work taking place within our early years provision and the commitment of staff to supporting families in creative and impactful ways.
