🎸 Calling all guitar players around the Scottish Borders!🎶
Have you got a guitar sitting at home that you’ve been meaning to pick back up? Maybe you know a few chords already, or perhaps you’ve always wanted to give it a go but never quite had the confidence.
We’re excited to be starting a brand-new Acoustic Guitar Circle at Merlin Academy, Melrose, especially for retired and older adults who would enjoy making music in a relaxed, friendly setting.
This isn’t about performing or being perfect there are no auditions, no solos and absolutely no pressure. It’s simply a chance to get together with like-minded people, play some familiar tunes, learn a few new things and enjoy making music together. 🎵
Beginners and returning players are all very welcome, so please don’t worry if it’s been years since you last picked up a guitar!
🎸 Just bring your own acoustic guitar
🎼 Music sheets and chord diagrams will be provided
Come along, have a strum and enjoy the company!

🎻 We’re starting a Fiddle Group! 🎶
We’re really excited to be bringing together fiddle players who simply enjoy playing music with others.
Our fortnightly Tuesday Fiddle Group will be a relaxed and friendly get-together where we can share tunes, learn from one another and, most importantly, just enjoy playing together.
We’ll be exploring old and new folk melodies from Scotland, North America, Scandinavia and beyond with absolutely no pressure to perform. 🎻
You don’t need to be an expert! Being able to read a little notation will help, but enthusiasm and a love of playing music are far more important.
📅 Every two weeks on a Tuesday
⏰ 1:00pm–2:00pm

☀️ Summer Holiday Notice ☀️
As another fantastic year comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing tutors for your hard work, dedication, and support throughout the year. We couldn't do it without you!
We're now taking a break for the summer holidays and will be back, refreshed and ready to go, the week commencing 10th August.
We hope you all have an amazing summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Open Stage last night! 💙
The talent on display was absolutely brilliant, and it was so lovely to see everyone come together to support one another in such a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment.
We couldn't be prouder of every single performer who got up and shared their talents.
Just a little reminder that next week will be our final week of lessons before our summer break. We'll then be back, refreshed and ready to go, from the week beginning 10th August.

Our Open Night Stage is happening on Friday 3rd July, and we couldn't be more excited!

We can't wait to welcome you all for an amazing evening filled with incredible performances, great atmosphere, and plenty of support for our fantastic local talent.

We are so proud to share that we raised £900, along with a lovely array of gifts, thanks to everyone’s amazing generosity 💛
The gifts and funds have now reached their final destination at Cash for Kids, who were incredibly grateful for all the support.
A huge thank you to every single person who donated, helped raise money, or contributed gifts, we truly couldn’t have done this without you.
Your kindness will make such a difference to so many children this Christmas 🎄
A reminder that we are now closed and will return week commencing the 5th of January.
