River Mead School

We have had a wonderful day celebrating The Arts. We enjoyed Samba drumming and dancing, learning the Cha Cha Cha and the Rhumba , playing drama games, painting with our feet, flicking paint, using rollers, painting from spinning chairs, playing musical instruments and watching bubbles, hand printing, painting with balls and marbles and lots more too!

We then opened our River Mead Gallery after school with an exhibition of art work.

Don’t forget - tomorrow we mark the end of our Arts Enrichment Year with a ‘Celebration of The Arts’ day. Children will have the opportunity to take part in art, music, dance and drama sessions across the day. Children should come to school in clothes that they can move easily in and get very messy too! We’re going to have so much fun!

Thank you to Friends of River Mead School, Melksham for all they have done to fund Arts enrichment this year! It’s been such a fabulous and memorable year. We are so grateful 🥰

We hope everyone has managed to stay safe and well in the extreme heat. 🥵☀️

We are very pleased to announce that school will be open as normal tomorrow. Whilst it isn’t due to be as hot as yesterday and today, it is due to remain very warm, so children will still need water bottles, suncream and hats please.

What a great day at Braeside for Y4 yesterday, and all the children slept so well too. Many of them were asking last night: “Can we go to bed yet?” Everyone was asleep by 9pm!

They have more activities this morning - canoeing, crate stacking and problem solving tasks and they will be back to school after lunch.
