🌈🎉 Aloeric Colour Run! 🎉🌈

This afternoon, our amazing Friends of Aloeric hosted the school's very first Colour Run—and what an incredible success it was!

The children had an absolute blast tackling the exciting obstacles along the course, all while being showered in a spectacular rainbow of colours. By the finish line, everyone had transformed into a wonderful kaleidoscope of colour, with plenty of smiles, laughter and unforgettable memories made along the way!

A huge thank you to our wonderful Friends of Aloeric, our volunteers and everyone who helped organise and support the event. Your hard work made this fantastic afternoon possible, and we can't wait to do it all again! 🌈💙💛❤️💚

🐾 A Very Special Visit from Guide Dogs For The Blind! 🐾

This week, we were incredibly lucky to welcome some very special visitors to our school! Ian and Jane from Guide Dogs for the blind, who brought along two amazing dogs, Rhia and Weaver, who quickly became firm favourites with everyone.

During a special whole-school assembly, the children learned all about the important role that assistance and support dogs play in people's lives. Ian and Jane shared how these incredible dogs are trained, the life-changing difference they make, and why they are such valued companions to the people they support.

The children were fascinated by Rhia and Weaver's impressive skills and loved seeing them in action. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about kindness, responsibility and the special bond between humans and dogs.

A huge thank you to Ian, Jane, Rhia and Weaver for taking the time to visit us and for sharing such an inspiring and memorable experience with our school community! 🐶

🏅 What an amazing Sports Day! 🏅

What a fantastic day we had at this year's Sports Day! The sunshine, smiles and incredible team spirit made it a truly memorable event for everyone involved.

The children threw themselves into a range of exciting events, from much-loved classics such as the sack race, egg-and-spoon race and sprint races, to some brand-new challenges. The hurdles took on a fun twist with hobby horses, while our "javelin" event featured rubber chickens, which certainly brought plenty of laughter to competitors and spectators alike!

It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, encouragement and determination from all of our children throughout the day. We were also delighted to welcome families onto the field at the end of the event to enjoy a lovely picnic together – a perfect way to round off such a special day.

A huge congratulations to William House, who collected the most tokens throughout the day and were crowned this year's Sports Day champions! 🏆💙
Thank you to all of our staff, volunteers and families for helping to make the day such a fantastic success. We are already looking forward to next year!

Aloeric Celebrates Diversity with Colourful Culture Festival 🌍🗺️

As a Gold Rights Respecting School – and the only one in Wiltshire to hold this prestigious status – Aloeric School was proud to celebrate the rich diversity of its community with a vibrant Culture Festival on 1 July.

Children from across the school created posters showcasing their faiths, cultures, languages, heritage and family backgrounds. These were displayed by continent, giving pupils the opportunity to explore and learn about countries from around the world. Equipped with their own passports, children travelled through the displays collecting stamps as they discovered more about each nation.

Many pupils proudly wore traditional clothing, adding even more colour and excitement to the event. The day concluded with the whole school coming together to wave individual flags representing their heritage and celebrate the diversity that makes the Aloeric community so special. Performances included a lively Chinese Dragon Dance by Reception and a vibrant Carnival Dance by Year 4.

The festival was a wonderful celebration of inclusion, respect and understanding, and a fantastic day enjoyed by pupils, staff and families alike. Thank you to everyone who took part!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Due to the forecast of extreme temperatures and the current red weather alerts, we are introducing optional early collection arrangements for pupils on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. ☀️

As a school, we are able to keep classrooms comfortable during the morning sessions. However, as the day progresses, the temperature and humidity rise significantly, making conditions increasingly uncomfortable for pupils and staff during the afternoon period.

The children's health is our priority during this time therefore we will be opening the school gates for optional early pick-up between 1:00pm and 1:30pm on each of these days.

If you choose to collect your child early, you may go directly to their classroom as usual, where the class teacher will hand your child over to you.

If you arrive after 1:30pm, please report to the school office, and we will assist you with collection.

We have also made the decision to cancel Afterschool Club on these days as the times clash with the highest temperatures.

We have also made the decision to postpone this weeks Sports Day.

Instead it will take place on Friday 3rd July (The Colour Run will move to Friday 10th July).

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you informed of any further updates.

Our Year 6 pupils have had another fantastic day on their residential! 🌟

Day two was packed with adventure as the children continued to challenge themselves and build their confidence through paddle boarding, climbing and caving. 🛶🧗‍♂️🪨

It’s been wonderful to see their resilience, teamwork and positive attitudes shining through as they try new activities and support one another.
We’re so proud of how they are representing our school and making the most of every moment—more great memories in the making! 😊

🌄 The Year Sixes Have arrived In the Mendip Hills!

After settling in and enjoying a quick lunch, the children jumped straight into their first exciting activities of the trip.

Today’s adventures included water sports, climbing, and team building — and what a fantastic start it has been!

We are so proud of how all the children approached these challenges. They showed excellent teamwork, perseverance and resilience, supporting one another every step of the way and giving everything a go. 💪

Lots of smiles, laughter, and achievements already — we can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 🌟
