It’s Disco Time!

Friday 16th October

Reception Children & KS1 Disco

The Reception and KS1 disco will start straight after school. Your child will have time to change into their own clothes if they wish, so please pop a change of clothes into their bag.

You will need to collect your child at 4:00pm from the school hall.
There will be a glow (non-food) tuck shop, where children can purchase some items of their choice. We recommend bringing £3–£5. Please make sure the money is kept safely in their bag.

Due to new health and safety regulations, we are unable to provide food at the EYFS & KS1 disco. However, there will be drinks available, and children will be sent home with some sealed sweets/biscuits.
We’re sorry if this causes any upset, but we promise they will still have lots of fun!

KS2 Disco

The KS2 disco will start at 4:15pm and finish at 5:15pm.

Please do not drop your child off any earlier than 4:15pm, as we need a few minutes to change the hall over from the first disco.

Please make sure you drop your child off and remain with them until they have been signed in. Children must not come into the hall and sign themselves in without an adult.

Hot dogs will be served at this disco, with vegetarian options available.
There will also be a tuck shop. We recommend bringing £3–£5. Please make sure this is kept safely in your child’s bag.

All children will need to be signed out by an adult when being collected.

After-School Club

Children who attend After-School Club can still be booked onto the disco.

They will be brought over to the disco by a member of staff and taken back to After-School Club afterwards.

If you are collecting your child after the disco has finished, you can collect them directly from the hall.

☀️SHAW SCHOOL SUMMER FETE – DON’T MISS OUT!☀️

The countdown is on for our fantastic Shaw School Summer Fete on Saturday 20th June, 3pm–6pm, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for an afternoon of fun, food, games and community spirit.

Something for the whole family to enjoy, including hot dogs, ice creams, games, raffles, lucky dip, activities and much more.

This year we’re encouraging everyone to visit our new PTA Events platform before the fete. Not only can you keep up to date with upcoming events, but you can also purchase raffle tickets and prepaid game cards in advance, helping you beat the queues and enjoy more of the day.

Parents and Friends of Shaw are delighted to launch our Summer Fete Raffle, with a fantastic selection of prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters.

From family days out, beauty treatments and sporting experiences to vouchers, gifts and much more, there is something for everyone to win.

Raffle booklets have been handed out to children this week. Every ticket purchased helps us raise valuable funds to support the school and provide additional opportunities and resources for our children.

A huge thank you to all the businesses who have kindly donated prizes and to everyone who continues to support our fundraising efforts.

Join us for a fantastic afternoon of summer fun at the PaFoS Summer Fete on Saturday 20th June from 3pm–6pm at Shaw Primary School.

With free entry and something for everyone to enjoy, it’s the perfect family day out. There will be music, inflatables, candy floss and popcorn supplied by Louma Events, plus a bar and snacks available throughout the event.

Enjoy a variety of stalls and games, take part in the adults’ and children’s tombola, adopt a teddy, and enjoy many more exciting activities.

Bring your family and friends along and help us celebrate the summer while supporting Parents and Friends of Shaw School. We look forward to seeing you there.

To any residents of Shaw and Whitley and adjacent villages: Shaw Primary School is updating their travel plan with the help of members from the Board of Governors, PAFOS (PTA), Staff and Parents as well as advisors from CAWS (Community Action Whitley and Shaw).

In order to make our case to Wiltshire Council and potentially take any measures to create a safer and more efficient route through our villages for our children, families and residents we need to hear from you!
