Matt is one of our Apprentice Mentors and PE Specialist at PH ActiveEd.

What he enjoys most:
“No two days are the same. I love visiting different schools and supporting our apprentices in ways that suit them best.”

⚽ Favourite sport: Football. He’s played, watched, and coached it his whole life
🎯 Outside of work: Recently taken up darts and he’s big into cooking!

💬 Advice for new PE leads: Use your team. Delegate tasks and don’t try to do it all alone
📍 Favourite memory: Attending the PE Conference for the first time this year and meeting lots of new faces
🖊 Dream superpower: For whiteboard pens to magically teleport into his pocket and never run out

Meet Abi 👋

Abi is our Camps Operations Manager at PH Camps.

“The best part of my job is creating the art plans for camps – getting creative and thinking about what the kids would love to make!”

⚾ Favourite sport: Rounders (especially deep fielding!)
🌊 Outside of work: Paddleboarding on the calm sea or performing in amateur dramatics
✨ Fun fact: Abi can spell supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
💬 Top tip for camp: Learn as many children’s names as you can – it helps build connections fast
🚶‍♀️ Favourite memory: Walking along the canal at lunchtime with colleagues
🧠 Dream superpower: Splitting herself into multiple people so each child gets her full attention
💭 Describes herself in three words: Caring, genuine, friendly

Meet Dan 👋
Dan is our Team Leader for Wiltshire at PH ActiveEd.

“The best part of my job is seeing children grow and progress through PE, not just in sport, but as people too.”

⚽ Favourite sports: Dodgeball and football. Dan’s played dodgeball for three teams and even gone on tour. As for football, he’s a dedicated referee
🛍 Outside of work: He loves reselling and spending weekends at car boot sales hunting for bargains to flip
📺 Fun fact: Dan appeared on Blue Peter as a baby!
💬 Advice for new PE leads: Take stock of your PE equipment early on, it’ll help you plan and prepare what you can deliver
🏅 Favourite memory: Beating Bishops Cannings in an 11-a-side friendly
🧠 Dream superpower: X-ray vision to understand when children may be struggling, both emotionally and physically

Staff week 2025 is now well underway! This is a key event in our calendar as we bring the whole PH ActiveEd team together!

Day 1 saw lots of energy, collaboration and learning. And luckily it stayed dry!
