Excitement starting to build at St. Joseph’s, Meigh for the upcoming Armagh GAA Senior Club Football Championship County Final. By our reckoning there are 13 past pupils on the squad from our ‘wee’ school. We wish them, their team mates, management and all associated with Killeavy GAC, the very best going into next Sunday’s game.

⚠️ PARENTS, PLEASE HAVE A WORD WITH YOUR TEENAGERS. ⚠️

I’ve just had to have a word with a group of teenagers down at the play park who were letting off fireworks. It’s bad enough at this time of year, but they were also walking around with a large black bag full of fireworks and leaving their empty fireworks and rubbish all over the place.

Doing this at 5pm, when children are still out playing , is just reckless and asking for something to happen.

🚨 SAFETY WARNING: Fireworks can cause serious burns, injuries and fires. Leaving them lying around is especially dangerous when young children are using are park , as a child could pick one up without realising what it is.

Teenagers should not be in possession of fireworks in the first place. Please speak to your children and make them aware of how serious and dangerous this is.

We all remember what happened our center a few years ago because of fireworks so let us all be safe over the Halloween season
