We have received some very sad news to share with Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School Leeds Memories.

Mr. Donovan sadly recently passed away.

On behalf of all that attended Cardinal Heenan, we would like to express our deepest condolences to all who knew him.

Thank you for your many years of complete dedication Sir.

Rest in Peace ❤️

Mr. Donovan’s funeral will take place at Rawdon Crematorium on Thursday 16th November. Starting at 2.30pm and afterwards at The Brownlee Arms Horsforth.

All are welcome at the funeral and the reception afterwards.

Mr. Donovan passed away in St. James’s Hospital, Leeds, on Saturday 28 October, aged 88.

Ted Donovan was Head of English at St. John Bosco from 1974 onwards. He then became the first Head of English at Cardinal Heenan from 1978 until his retirement in 1991.
He was born in Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Ireland in 1935 and was a graduate of University College, Cork. He spent some time teaching in his home town before coming to England and teaching in London, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Leeds.
He was passionate about theatre and organised many school theatre trips, particularly to see plays by Shakespeare.

Mr. Hartigan recently passed away.
