Hecate Arts Hello, we're Hecate and we love making all sorts of things happen.

We are a team made up of an experienced artist and 2 project managers with a wealth of experience working with everyone from children, families, schools to local authorities and passers by! Our main aim is to bring out-of-the-ordinary events to Matlock and along the way, we'd love to hear from you if there's a project you'd love to see locally. We're great at raising funds for projects to so don't be shy, if you've got an idea, we'd love to help you make it come to life.

Matlock prides itself on having so many small independent shops and cafes in Town and WE LOVE THEM!!!!……….BUT………..many are struggling and desperately need your support.
If you are looking for a gift for someone or just fancy treating yourself please head into town and buy from one of the amazing local shops in Matlock.
If we don’t support our High Street we won’t have one left to enjoy.
If you run an independent business in Matlock please feel free to tag yourself in the comments and tell everyone a little bit about your business.

More than half of the available **FREE* tickets have been snapped up already for the live music element of Matlock's Welcome Back Weekend later this month.

We're hosting the weekend - celebrating the best of Matlock - in partnership with Matlock Town Council, Northern Light Cinema and Hecate Arts.

The live music festival in our Hall Leys Park on Saturday 21 August features local bands, together with food and drink stalls - and tickets are available now here 👇

The Welcome Back Weekend also features fabulous outdoor cinema, with just a few free tickets remaining for Northern Light Cinema's screening of Mamma Mia! (PG) to a potential audience of around 500 on Friday 20 August. Gates open at 6pm and there will be music, food and drink available before the film.

On Saturday the 21st, in addition to the evening music festival, look out for a fabulous artisan market in the park, organised by Hecate Arts, with family friendly workshops from 12-5pm. No tickets are required for this.

The Welcome Back Weekend in the award-winning town centre park is made possible by the 'Welcome Back Fund', which uses European Regional Development Fund cash provided by the Government to help high streets recover from the pandemic.

Great news! Matlock is the focus for a fabulous free 'Welcome Back Weekend' on 20 and 21 August, with outdoor cinema, live music and an artisan market in your District Council's Hall Leys Park.

We're hosting the weekend - celebrating the best of Matlock - in partnership with Matlock Town Council, Northern Light Cinema and Hecate Arts. Tickets go on sale online from 2 August.

The event in the award-winning town centre park is made possible by the 'Welcome Back Fund', which uses European Regional Development Fund cash provided by the Government to help high streets recover from the pandemic.

Northern Light Cinema will screen Mama Mia (PG) to a potential audience of around 500 on Friday 20 August. Gates open at 6pm and there will be music, food and drink available before the film.

On Saturday the 21st look out for an artisan market in the park, with family friendly workshops from 12-5pm. No tickets are required for this.

Following at 5pm is a live music festival featuring local bands, together with food and drink stalls.

Free tickets will be released on 2 August for the outdoor cinema and live music events on a first-come-first-served basis at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/welcomebackweekend

The ‘Welcome Back Weekend’ is an idea brought forward by District Council ward member Councillor Paul Cruise, who is also a member of Matlock Town Council. He has been working with Council officers to pull the event together.

District Council Leader Councillor Garry Purdy said: "It's our job to administer the Welcome Back Fund and we've enabled several local town and parish councils to welcome back visitors and shoppers to their communities in whatever way works best for them.

"However, the Welcome Back Weekend is one our own teams are leading on and we truly hope it signals that Matlock and indeed the whole of the Derbyshire Dales is back in business."

Hey, lovely local people - urgent request :)

"Door staff / security people / firms – paid gig.

RFM has been let down by a firm for an event in Matlock Bath tomorrow evening (7pm - 2am) and desperately needs to find someone. It's fundraising for a charity and a not-for-profit so really not ideal.

Does anyone know anyone who's SIA trained or equivalent, or has experience managing doors / security? It's a paid gig.
