Hi all

During the summer holidays of the children have enjoyed playing board games from our childhood. It took me a little reminder to remember how to play, but we soon got started. The children worked well together, recognising numbers, taking turns, and encouraging one another throughout the games. They also showed patience as they waited for their turn and celebrated each other's successes. The children developed their counting, number recognition, and social skills while having fun.

We also have enjoyed children bringing in games from their parents, grandparents generation. 😀

We would like to thank everyone who attended our Parents Evening and the Nursery Leavers to School Graduation ceremony yesterday . It was wonderful to see you there, and we hope you all had a lovely time celebrating the children’s achievements and milestones with us.

To ensure that everyone has an opportunity to join in on our fundraising activities, we are pleased to announce that our tombola, mini car detail raffle, and the "guess how many coins in the jar" competition will continue running until Tuesday, 18th August and be drawn on Wednesday 19th.

We wanted to extend these deadlines to give a fair chance to those who were unable to attend the events or who might not have had money on the night to enter.

Please speak to a member of staff to get entries and tickets at drop-off and pick-up times. Your contributions directly benefit the nursery environment, and we greatly appreciate your continued generosity.

Thank you once again for your incredible support and for making our celebrations so special, also a big thankyou for all donations made which are currently at £72 😀

We will miss all of the leavers 😢 and there individual personalities, if your passing in the future come and say hello 😊

We have had a wonderful but hot day exploring cromford .
We started by seeing a cat and tomatoes as we walked through allotments to get to the park, the children had fun on various park equipment and then we headed to the shop to get some biscuits and more drinks. We then went for a walk to the mills where Lincoln bought some cheese and shared some of it with his friends. We then walked to the canal where the children fed the ducks some bread. The geese quickly came in wanting food too, we fed these and then quickly moved away to the table, the geese then left to get food from others. We saw alot of small fish in the canal and then we walked to to The Boat Inn. We enjoyed our meals and drinks here and then went to Scarthin book shop where we read some stories and the children all chose 1 story book each to buy. We paid for these and then crossed the road with the help of a police officer as the traffic lights had broken and waited for our bus back to nursery.
The children was excellent walking together and remembered to hold hands when near tge roads.
The children have shared how they will miss trips out 😊

Children enjoyed their routine visit to Darcy house sharing breakfast with the residents, filling the room with smiles and gentle conversation. It was a lovely moment of connection between generations.

Afterwards, we explored the sensory room. Alana’s curiosity really shone — she was particularly drawn to the world globe, turning it carefully and looking closely at the different countries. She wanted to know where England and Ireland were, and she shared proud little smiles with staff as she located them.

This was a wonderful example of early geographical awareness and positive social interaction.

We let the residents and staff know that this visit that was had would be Alana’s last day attending, as she begins her next chapter at school. Everyone wished her well for her exciting journey ahead.

The playhouse is coming along nicely and we cannot wait for the children to explore this - Thankyou to Bill for putting our ideas together and making our wish come true!😊

We will not be posting any photos of the playhouse yet until it is completed as we want it to be a surprise for you all 🤫

Children at nursery are encouraged to independently self‑serve their own lunch, and they all do brilliantly. Attached are some photos from last week, it was lovely to see their growing confidence, careful choices, and pride in serving themselves. Well done, everyone — such a positive step in developing independence and self‑help skills. 🙂
