The Shipley family will always be part of the AGS family, and they will always be welcome in our school. 💜 Eve will forever hold a special place in our hearts. 🦋

Lovely words in the Anthony Gell School newsletter about our beautiful Eve. 💜

It means so much to see Eve remembered in this way and to know that she will always be part of the school community.

A special place where people can sit, reflect and remember our very special girl.

Thank you to everyone at Anthony Gell for remembering Eve ♡ xx

🏆 Proud of our students – inside and outside the classroom! 🏎️✨

We’re incredibly proud of our students not only for their achievements in school, but also for the amazing things they get up to beyond the classroom!

One of our year 10 students, Taylor, has been awarded the Matlock Chamber of Trade Challenge Shield for his fantastic illuminated model boat, ‘Lightning Strikes Again’, featuring the one and only Lightning McQueen! ⚡🏎️ The boat took to the water at this year’s Matlock Bath Illuminations, showcasing Taylor’s creativity, dedication and passion for model boat building.

Taylor has already achieved some fantastic success over the years. In 2022, he won the Geoff Stephens Compares Favourite Trophy for ‘Jet Mighty Wings’, followed by 4th prize and the Dave Sanderson Cup for his police car in 2023. In 2024, he even had the honour of rowing his model, ‘Heroes of the Sky’, alongside Olympic rower Oli Wilkes!

Taylor is a member of the Matlock Bath Boat Builders Association, sharing his passion for the hobby with his grandad, dad, uncle and great-uncle.

A huge congratulations to Taylor on this year’s award! We love celebrating the talents, passions and achievements of our students, wherever they take them. 💙💛

🌟 Last week we invited some Year 3 and 4 students from surrounding primary schools to take part in a fantastic sports event led by our AGS Sports Leaders!🌟

The event introduced students to a range of alternative activities such as Archery and Dance to give them the opportunity to try something new beyond the sports they normally access in school. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork, enthusiasm and effort from everyone involved.

A huge well done to our Sports Leaders for delivering such an engaging event! 💛💙
