Mount Cook Adventure Centre is a new not-for-profit organisation which opened in July 2016, in Derbyshire. We are dedicated to providing outdoor activities and learning for all, especially young people and those who would not otherwise have the opportunity. Our purpose-built Centre can accommodate 140 guests in modern bedrooms, and a further 40 guests on our secure onsite camping paddock. Unique f

eatures of our eco-building include an indoor climbing wall, an onsite high-ropes course and a 10m high rooftop terrace. We welcome groups big or small, and people of all ages and abilities to our Centre! You can come to Mount Cook for a residential of any length, an activity day, half-day, or an after-work evening session (available in Spring and Summer). NCS or Prince's Trust), badge groups (e.g. Scouts & Guides), family or friend annual gatherings, corporate team-building days and much more! Our glass-fronted Main Dining Hall also makes an impressive venues for celebrations, birthday parties, annual AGMs, conferences and even weddings!

Looking for a birthday party that's a bit different this year? 🧗

Our Climbing Parties are perfect for adventurous kids aged 6-11. They'll get a 90 minute session with one of our qualified instructors, with all the equipment and food included, so all you need to bring is the cake! There's room for up to 12 children, with a minimum of 2 adults to help supervise.

We've got dates available through November, December, January and February, so there's plenty of choice to find one that works for you.

Ever wanted to climb a rock face without being a climber? That's Via Ferrata. It's Italian for "iron road" and it's basically a fixed cable and rung system bolted into the rock face, so you clip in, follow the path, and go.

We run it here at Mount Cook for anyone aged 10 and up who fancies a proper adrenaline hit. You'll be harnessed and clipped on throughout, our instructors talk you through everything before you start, and honestly the nerves disappear pretty quickly once you're moving.

If you've been putting off trying it because it sounds terrifying, that's usually the sign you should book it. 🧗

If you're an instructor, activity leader, teacher or bushcraft provider, this is where you build the skills and underpinning knowledge behind the award. Sessions run across our dedicated bushcraft areas here in the Peak District, with glamping and cooked meals included so you can focus fully on the training.

Our HAF programme is back this August, open to kids in Reception to Year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals.

8:45am - 1pm of activities (including climbing, bushcraft, zip wires, Land Karts, high ropes) and cooking themed games, plus a fresh lunch from our own kitchen team. Waterproofs and boots are able to borrow if you need them!
