As President of Cromford WI, I had the privilege of handing over the recycled material montage entitled Save the Rainforests members made for Celebrating Cromford to Eloise Barnett, Director, Phoenix ND Education Ltd. to be displayed in the new school located in the previous Methodist Church in the village.

Our members are really pleased that our piece of work has found a new home and we hope the children will enjoy it.

Cromford WI are hosting a fashion show with an opportunity to purchase well known brands at great prices. Tickets are available from [email protected]. The evening will be held at the Florence Nightingale Memorial Hall, Holloway. Doors open at 7pm.

Cromford WI are looking forward to their next meeting on Wednesday 1st July when Barry Harper will be talking about his Treks to the North Pole. We meet at The Cromford Institute at 7.15pm.

We had a fantastic day at Celebrating Cromford selling our cakes which were very popular. These members arrived early to set up with others arriving during the day with even more cakes.

On Wednesday night, members of Cromford WI visited YES Bridal Studio in Cromford Mill. Libby, her designers and seamstresses warmly welcomed us to their beautiful studio filled with stunning dresses and accessories. Libby told us how she started her business, the process of brides choosing their dress, the different materials they use, how they design them and the different styles available.

In the accessories room the members had great fun trying on the tiaras and chatting about their wedding dresses.

Many thanks go to Libby and her team for allowing us to visit and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the Studio, learn about the process of making a wedding dress and the time and care they take in making each dress the brides’s dream.
