Our appeal list for August:

Tinned pasta 🍝

Roll-on deodorant only (no aerosols) 🧼

We recently made the decision to no longer accept donations of aerosol products, including deodorants. This came after advice from our referral partners and local PCSOs. Thank you for supporting us with this appeal 🫂

TOMORROW
Maryport Town Council's Fun Day
Leaflets were delivered to Schools before the Summer Closure.

Also on offer will be 250 FREE Footballs if you can shoot at the Penalty Shoot Out Game, once they are gone they are gone and that game with be charged at £3.50 to then choose a prize of your choice.

Tickets will be on sale TOMORROW from 1pm at the Event Space bar area, a fantastic 5 tokens for only £5, with a huge saving.

Rides will be available to pay for as you ride if you don't have tokens, Wilmot’s Amusements and Catering Cumbria have agreed to reduce the costs for the rides for our event between 1 & 4pm to £2 per go. (Trampolines are £5) or free with a token.

No tokens are available until 1pm tomorrow at the Event Space from one of the Council's staff or volunteers. please if possible bring correct change.
We do have a limited amount of flyers to sell, so please ensure you get down early to avoid disappointment.

💙 SELF-REFERRALS ARE NOW OPEN 💙

We are pleased to be launching Courage to Heal, Strength to Rise, a free 12-week domestic abuse education and recovery programme for women who have experienced domestic abuse.

The first cohort begins on Monday 7 September 2026 and will be facilitated by a professional and experienced counsellor.

The programme provides a safe, supportive and trauma-informed space where participants can:
🌱 Develop a greater understanding of domestic abuse and coercive control
🌱 Recognise perpetrator tactics, unhealthy patterns and warning signs
🌱 Understand trauma and its effects on the brain, body and emotions
🌱 Explore the impact of domestic abuse on physical and mental health
🌱 Rebuild self-esteem, confidence and healthy boundaries
🌱 Develop practical coping strategies and plan for continued healing

Participants will never be pressured to share their personal experiences and can take part at a level that feels safe and comfortable for them.

Places are limited, but further cohorts are planned.
