A few photos of some of the outdoor spaces our children get to enjoy.

Whether it’s running around on the field, playing with friends at break time, building confidence through active play on the play equipment, or exploring the Beach Class (Reception and Year 1) outdoor area, these spaces are a big part of daily life at school.

We know how important it is for children to have opportunities to be active, creative and spend time outdoors throughout the school day and we have lots of opportunities.

☀️Here are just a few snapshots from around the school grounds. It’s even better when the sun is shining.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate this Red warning.

Remember to stay sun safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to school on Friday.

REMEMBER -
Apply suncream before going outside
Avoid being in the sun for long periods especially between 11-3pm

☀️ Hot Weather Update ☀️

As you will be aware this week is forecast to be very hot with Amber weather warnings issued for the majority of the week.

With this in mind, children are welcome to wear their PE kit to school on non-PE days to help keep them cool. Girls may also choose to wear their summer dresses should they prefer.

Please can we remind all parents and carers to ensure children bring:

🧴 Sun cream applied before school (and a named bottle if they are able to reapply independently)

🧢 A sun hat

💧 A named water bottle filled with water each day

In addition, on swimming days, as the playground can become very hot, children should bring alternative footwear (e.g. flip flops or sliders) for walking to and from the swimming pool.

We will continue to monitor and take appropriate measures in school to keep children safe and comfortable. ☀️

Thank you for your continued support.

As part of their History work, yesterday Willow class went back in time to visit the Roman Villa and museum at the Newt Somerset.

They explored what life would've been like for the family that lived in the villa and used their archaeology skills to discover more about life in Roman Britain.
