𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒍𝒚 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝑼𝒑🌿
It’s been another wonderful week of discovery, creativity and learning through play at The Cornerstone!

Our Ducklings have been exploring the world around them through animals and their habitats. They travelled back to prehistoric times, using dinosaurs to make marks in paint while developing their fine and gross motor skills. They also enjoyed scooping and pouring in the sand.

The children then explored pond life, discovering some of the insects and animals that can be found around ponds. Using magnifying glasses and identification cards, they investigated their little discoveries before enjoying lots of fun with water play.

Our Barn Owls have been very busy continuing their Fairytale Month with The Three Little Pigs! They explored a Three Little Pigs tuff tray and worked together to build houses using different materials, including foam bricks, straw and blocks, to see whether their houses were strong enough to withstand the Big Bad Wolf! The children showed fantastic sharing and teamwork as they worked together.

They also enjoyed tracing numbers and using play knives to cut playdough, confidently making marks and exploring what happened when they cut their playdough into different sections.

Our Butterflies have been focusing on math this week! They explored numerals and quantities through loose parts and playdough, including counting the pancakes they made! They also explored shapes, created patterns and discovered how smaller shapes could be combined to create larger ones.

Their learning continued through water play, using guttering to explore cause and effect, as well as investigating size and quantity through filling and pouring. 💦

There was also plenty of time for sensory and imaginative play, with colourful ice play to cool down and lots of lovely tea parties where the children enjoyed pouring and drinking their pretend cups of tea! ☕️

With the expansion of our nursery due to high demand in the childcare sector since the introduction of the new government funding, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Leader to join our team. As a Toddler Room Leader, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the nursery room, ensuring the well-being and development of the children in your care. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives.

𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔:
⭐Provide leadership and guidance to nursery staff, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children
⭐Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs
⭐Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
⭐Monitor and assess each child's progress and development
⭐Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, incidents, and milestones
⭐Collaborate with parents to address any concerns or special requirements
⭐Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations
⭐Manage daily routines, including meals, nap times, and hygiene practices

𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔:
⭐Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
⭐Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff
⭐Demonstrated leadership abilities to motivate and inspire a team
⭐Proactive approach with the ability to drive continuous improvement in the nursery room
⭐Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, resources, and documentation
⭐Proficient in English (verbal and written)
⭐Previous experience working in childcare or related field

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌𝒍𝒚 𝑹𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝑼𝒑🌿
From sensory discoveries with our babies to exploring space, fairy tales, and the world around us, it’s been another wonderful week at The Cornerstone!

Our Ducklings have been focusing on texture and colour, enjoying mark making in moonsand as part of "Lion Day" and exploring touch-and-feel books alongside their friends. They also began exploring the exciting world of space and planets, inspired by the recent meteor shower. 🌙✨

Our Barn Owls have had a busy week exploring both fairy tales and space. They enjoyed discovering different textures through songs, books, and creative activities, with crafts inspired by favourite stories including Goldilocks and Jack and the Beanstalk. They also had lots of fun learning about space, stars, planets, and meteors as part of Meteor Day. 🚀📚

Meanwhile, our Butterflies have been busy looking closely at the world around them. They harvested tomatoes grown in the nursery garden and enjoyed tasting them while talking about where our food comes from. 🍅 They also explored light, shadows, and shapes using the overhead projector, worked together to build dominoes in the garden, and used magnifying glasses to search for some hidden people! 🔍🌿

It has been a week full of curiosity, exploration, creativity, and wonderful opportunities to learn through play. We can’t wait to see what next week brings! 💚✨

What a wonderful week we've had at The Cornerstone, filled with exploration, learning and special celebrations!

This week, the children have been discovering the fascinating world of animals and insects. They loved watching the ladybirds in the garden and were excited to explore a real snake skin that had been brought in, sparking lots of curiosity and conversations about wildlife and nature.

Our babies have been enjoying time in the sensory room, exploring a variety of lights, textures and sounds that encouraged curiosity and supported their sensory development.

The Barn Owls have been developing their fine motor skills by practising their cutting skills and learning how to use scissors safely and confidently. This activity helped to build their independence while strengthening the skills needed for future learning.

A very special highlight of the week was celebrating our wonderful preschool children at their graduation party. Families joined us, including mums, dads and grandparents, as we came together to celebrate all of the children's achievements and how far they have come during their time with us. We are incredibly proud of every one of them and wish them all the very best as they begin their next exciting adventure.

It's been another fantastic week of learning, laughter and making memories. We hope everyone has a lovely weekend! 💛
