Our summer has been full of activities and days out

Our recent adventures and activities

World Cup themed week, sensory rice play and small world toys playing football, we made footballs with paper plates and cut out black card

We created beautiful gifts and cards for the littles ones dads

We have made granola bars and more baking with Oats in the following weeks coming

We had healthy eating theme for few weeks, Introducing new snacks to children, all their favourites was pomegranate seeds and definitely watermelon

We enjoyed going over number recognition and lots of counting

Using the dentist kit to clean teeth and talking about how many times a day, and how we should brush our teeth, what is good and bad for our teeth and bodies and how we balance it with foods.

We have ventured out to lots of new and the same places. Making sure we are staying cool in this weather but still having fun learning!

Super busy few weeks

We have mainly been outside and enjoyed every minute.

We have had frog play and lots of it, using different style trays, with water, lily pads and chia seeds.

We have learnt more about mini beasts and little ones have been exploring where we find them and going over bugs names.

Created lots of different mini beasts crafts

We have started other spring themes with farm animals, colours and weather.

We have been planting lots of new seeds and flowers, watching them growing quickly. We also have been looking after, raspberry, tomato, strawberry and cucumber growing area. Hoping we can pick some this year!!

On Wednesday we helped plant trees by marston skate park.

We always garden at the setting and grow thing each year, but this was an amazing experience for little ones and we can revisit and watch the trees grow through out the years and spot which ones we helped with.

This helps children understand life cycles, what we need to do to plant and help each one grow, what protection they need in early days, a responsibility to care for each plant/tree. It gives children the chance to explore a variety of textures, from the seeds, roots, grass, soil and much more.

Using different tools works on their coordination skills, and social skills. This also benefits children's mental health, being outdoors, fresh air and movements are all extremely important.

We did manage to find lots of different size worms . 🪱 🌳

I think I got the muddiest though!

We had great fun around Valentines, these are the only photos I took unfortunately.

But we painted hands to create prints with hearts for parents, and then added colouring and stickers to the front and inside.

We used stencils, paint and aponges to dab.

We had a few different style of sensory trays available to play with.

Our first visit this year to a library 📚📖

Little ones loved it ❤️ we will definitely make this a regular thing now, there was lots of books to chose from, colouring, blocks, dinosaurs and puzzles. Next visit we will give ourselves more time to be able to explore more and read through more books together. 📚

Visiting a library gives young Eyfs children the chance to get ready for school, understanding circle time and listening to stories, it enhances their social skills and understanding. Aids children in a love for books and reading. And helps to explore their imagination skills.

We threw a christmas party for all little ones and families yesterday. It was a lovely evening and really enjoyed seeing them all together.

We made a variety of christmas themed foods along with music playing. We sang, danced and played games.

🎃👻 halloween and firework fun

Pumpkin pom poms
Cotton bud skeletons
Cardboard roll fireworks
Sensory rice and bean play with halloween spooky spiders and skulls, using cauldrons to scoop into and make potions.
Lots of outdoor imaginary play and group visits.
Pumpkin painting adding glitter of course... it is tje start of glitter season after all 👻🎃
