Another week of wonder, creativity, and discovery in Year 1! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our classroom has been buzzing with imagination, independence and wonderful stories from home:
All Aboard the Express! ๐ŸšŒ Ticket, please! The children took full charge of their independent play by building their own bus and crafting tickets, leading to brilliant conversations about transport and journeys.
Jewel Collectors & Sorters: ๐Ÿ’Ž Meanwhile, our clever thinkers discovered a treasure trove of jewels and set straight to work sorting and grouping them using their very own criteria.
An Extra-Special 'All About Me' Box: ๐ŸŒฟ (I'm a little late posting these photos, but this was far too lovely not to share!) We were completely captivated learning about this young lady's green fingers, family adventures, home cooking and the things she has grown. She even brought in fresh lavender to shareโ€”it made our room smell absolutely incredible!

We are constantly amazed by the incredible range of talents, skills and unique interests our children bring to school every day. We feel so lucky to be a part of their learning journey! โค๏ธโœจ

A huge Year 1 congratulations to our latest superstar! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ
We were blown away this week when this bright spark brought in not one, but two swimming certificates to share with us!
We love hearing all about your childrenโ€™s hobbies and talents outside of school and celebrating these wonderful milestones together. Watching their confidence shine as they share their achievements with their friends is truly special.
Congratulations to our amazing little superstarโ€”we are so proud of you! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘โœจ

Happy Tuesday! Here is a glimpse into what our Year 1 adventurers got up to today! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our week is off to an incredible start! We also celebrated another special birthday todayโ€”our second one already this week! ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ

Today was packed with wonder, active play, and fantastic learning through every sense:
Little Explorers: Our school grounds turned into a nature sanctuary today as we hunted for minibeasts, spotting bright ladybirds and fascinating larvae along the way!
Harvest Time: We explored our trees and harvested our very own delicious applesโ€”so much joy in discovering where our food grows.
Active Learners: Building confidence, balance and agility on the trim trail with some impressive climbing and gymnastics practice.
Phonics Superstars: Inside, the hard work continued with marvelous progress in our phonics and early writing.

It is pure joy watching their curiosity, wonder and independence flourish more and more each day. Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us! โค๏ธโœจ

Our Year 6 scientists have been showcasing their curiosity as they explored the fascinating world of electricity! ๐Ÿ’ก๐Ÿ”‹ We asked: What is electricity, and how does it work? ๐Ÿค”
It was fantastic to see our Year 6s asking thoughtful questions, sharing ideas, making predictions and using their observations to develop their scientific understanding. ๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿงช
A brilliant example of curiosity sparking learning! โšก๏ธ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽจYear 1 Art
In Art this term, Year 1 are focusing on drawing. Today, we explored the exciting world of mark making using a range of materials, including chalks, crayons, oil pastels and pencils.

We experimented with different types of marks and discovered how the amount of pressure we use can change the marks we create. We also explored how different surfaces can affect the way our materials move and the marks they leave behind.

The children loved experimenting, making observations and seeing just how many different marks they could create! ๐Ÿ–๏ธโœจ

We canโ€™t wait to see how these skills develop as we continue our drawing journey this term. ๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŒŸ
