It’s been a productive week moving between the classroom and teacher training 🙌 :

👨‍🏫 In the classroom: Back with my regular KS2 classes earlier this week 💻

🤖 AI in Practice: Delivered my second CPD session at Diggle Primary focused on the practical, effective use of AI for teaching and learning 👍

👩🏻‍💻 STEM Workshops: Working with the The Exa Foundation this week, yesterday with two Year 7 all-girl groups discussing STEM careers, and today with a primary school in Liverpool 🤛🏻

Being based just down the road from Anfield today meant I could get some fresh air and a walk to the stadium during my lunch break too :) YNWA!! ⚽️

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind week, but an incredibly productive one nonetheless🌪️🙌

I’ve been busy running assemblies and workshops for Safer Internet Day 🌐🛡️ across my regular schools, followed by two fantastic days working with staff and pupils for the first time at St Anne’s in Manchester, where I particularly enjoyed introducing the KS1 & KS2 classes to Google’s Teachable Machine and delivering a session to staff on using Google Gemini and Notebook LM🤖.

We managed to:
✅Build an AI model for a ‘smart cat flap’ 🐱
✅Enlist the help of the (very cute) school dog to test our training data! 🐕

I capped off the week today at a secondary school in Wigan, leading STEM careers workshops for Years 7 and 8. 🚀🎓

I’m certainly ready for a restful half-term now! ☕😴

Enjoyable morning spent with pupils from Our Lady’s, Ludworth, Sacred Heart, St Malachy’s and St Margaret Mary’s. Very productive session, where we managed to get more badge assignments completed, spent time getting to grips with Google Gemini for creating slides, posters and digital storybooks and started mapping out ideas for Safer Internet Day. Great effort from all the groups today 🙌

Really enjoyable and productive afternoon, working alongside the subject leaders from the EdStart Schools, showcasing the immense possibilities of and how it can be utilised to support teaching and learning across their schools . Looking forward to continuing with this AI support in the new year.

I’ve really enjoyed the last couple of days running STEM workshops with students across different year groups.

Yesterday I was at Star Academy in Salford working with Year 7, 8 and an all-girls Year 9 group. Today I visited West End Academy in Ashton to work with Year 6 pupils. Great engagement from all the students.

Having spent the last few weeks working with the amazing teaching staff at St Wilfrid's RC Primary, Manchester, exploring their use of AI tools to create amazing classroom resources, it was a nice change to work with the admin staff tonight, showing them how they can use Google’s NotebookLM to streamline admin tasks, save time, and boost efficiency 🙌
