At Brabyns, our curriculum is personally structured with a clear focus placed on Independent and State School entrance requirements and preparation. Specialist teaching remains broad and balanced with a continued emphasis on creativity, questioning, and independent thinking.
We are incredibly proud of our current Year 6 children for their superb Entrance Examination results and scholarships offered!
Bellevue Education

Year 3 and 4 headed up to Lockerbrook Farm Outdoor Centre this week for their summer residential. The children packed so much into their time, enjoying a fantastic range of activities including: caving, canoeing, crate stacking, climbing, rock hopping, weaselling, team building, orienteering and an epic adventure walk.
A huge thank you to the team at Lockerbrook for their professionalism and expertise, to our Brabyns staff - who organised and supervised the trip with such dedication, and of course to our wonderful children for wonderful displays of team spirit, bravery, friendship and of course; exemplary behaviour!

Year 5 and 6 have had a blast this week on their summer residential in the Lake District.
The children explored the stunning Elterwater countryside enjoying a fantastic range of activities over and under ground!
A huge thank you to the Brabyns staff for giving their time to organise & support this trip, to the team at Big Adventure for making it so memorable, and of course to the children for showing great spirit, admirable teamwork and impeccable behaviour!

Lake District National Park

At Brabyns the preparation for senior school starts during the early years. By the time the children reach Year 6 they are well rounded global citizens, ready for the next part of their school journey.. Bellevue Education

Today children from Brabyns' Reception and Year 1 classes enjoyed a trip to Buxton Pavilion Gardens.
This visit supported the work they are doing this half term on our whole school ‘Take One Picture’ project.
The children had the opportunity to explore the stunning botanical gardens making observational drawings of tropical plants to inspire their project work in school.
They also had lots of fun in the park and play area!

The Brabyns family has enjoyed a hugely energetic, creative and fulfilling 'Health Week' this week. A HUGE thank you Mrs Oatley for organising such a fantastic range of activities to promote our children’s health and well being.
Children from Nursery to Year 6 took part in a daily running challenge, made 'fruit art', showcased their gymnastic skills, learnt about healthy lunches with Mrs Bailey and were fortunate to receive a a visit from Double Commonwealth Gold Medal winning athlete; Leon Baptiste…what an inspiration!

At Brabyns we acknowledge and appreciate each child's individual strengths and characteristics. They are instilled with confidence in our nurturing environment whilst developing excellent life values and skills. This sits alongside their educational development to ensure every child is inspired to reach their potential.

We love to welcome new faces to the Brabyns Family; and understand that taking the time to settle in to a new setting is important to ensure a smooth transition for children and parents alike.

This morning we welcomed Safari Phil's Animal Adventures to Brabyns Preparatory School
Children in Reception, Year 5 & Year 6 immersed themselves in an interactive session looking at the classification of animals, as part of our school science curriculum. They got up close and personal with some friendly creatures which included snakes, giant snails, a hissing cockroach and a blue-tongued skink!

It's a 'delight' to see our children skipping in to school each day wearing huge smiles!

The sun was shining for Brabyns' Open Door Afternoon yesterday as we welcomed family members and new faces in to school to enjoy lessons with the children.

This summer Brabyns Preparatory School is participating in the project in collaboration with National Gallery London.
Take One Picture is a national programme for primary schools, which aims to inspire a lifelong love of art and learning. Every year, takes one picture from the collection to inspire cross-curricular work in primary classrooms.
The image this year is ‘Surprised!’ by French post-impressionist artist Henri Rousseau; a painting showing a tiger in a jungle.
The children will be sharing ideas with their classes based on what they would like to learn from this painting, linking to all
subjects. They have a real ownership of their learning and are able to steer this in any direction they please!
On Thursday 25th May (4pm - 6pm) we will be holding an exhibition showcasing the children’s wonderful work on this project.

It's SHOW TIME!
Here's a sneaky peek of Brabyns' talented Juniors at their final dress rehearsal before performances of 'Oliver' take place at New Mills High School tonight and tomorrow.
The children have worked incredibly hard for our wonderful Performing Arts Specialist; Mrs Thirsk, and it promises to be an unforgettable show!

What a fantastic week we have had on our 2023 Ski Trip!
The children have shown resilience, perseverance, determination, strength, teamwork, maturity and respect during our time in Austria. We have enjoyed superb ski days, beautiful views, glorious weather, fantastic food, fun (and very competitive) evening entertainment and fostered great friendships with our accompanying school groups.

What a wonderful World Book Day!
The Brabyns Preparatory School family were inspired by their literary heroes as they celebrated their favourite books!

ROTARY SCORES TWICE

Rotary as an organization cares deeply about the health of our planet and especially environmental issues affecting it. We also care about education and helping children who do not have reading material at home especially in the deprived areas of our town.

Thanks to Brabyns Preparatory School of Marple we have been able score on both counts. Brabyns School has just completed a major library refurbishment and has offered Stockport Lamplighter the books that are surplus to requirements or being upgraded. We now have BOXES AND BOXES of children’s reading books and text books. Members of our Youth committee are working like beavers to sort out and reclassify all the books into age groups and plan to hold a FREE book giveaway at Vale View Primary school Reddish on the 17th March.

The idea is that each child can take three books home.

We are preparing for a busy Discovery Morning on Saturday 4 March, and are looking forward to welcoming lots of new families into school!
