We’re ready for you, Marple! Come and try out some instruments upstairs at Lentils and Lather, Stockport Road. We have a tenor banjo, mandolin, octave mandolin, bass guitar, electric guitar, ukulele (including Low G tuning!), keyboard, and more! We will be open until 6pm today, no charge and no pressure to give some instruments a go. We have also set up our colouring table with the remaining egg shakers for anyone who missed out on Tuesday. All ages and abilities are welcome ☺️ Pop in any time 🎶

There is still space to come and join us at our crafts day! We have already had a student build this fabulous kalimba from scratch and several adorable decorated egg shakers, which we still have a limited supply of. We also now have this rather funky sign letting people know we are upstairs at .

We have made a mock-up of our lollipop stick kalimba design for our Arts & Crafts session tomorrow, though we are pretty sure the kids will do a better job than us!
We have wooden egg shakers ready to be decorated too and we will be open all day from 10am - 5pm, upstairs at Lentils and Lather, Stockport Road, Marple. Drop in any time if you're looking for a laid back Easter activity!

Our kids songbook group have started out the year making some requests, and they have been begging to play some Chapell Roan!
Since this one was made especially for the kids group, we have kept it simple by transposing it to an easier key. You will need your capo on fret 1 to play along with the original.

Sully (that's the goat, for anyone who's new here!) is getting himself nice and settled in his new home at Lentils and Lather's Marple store. Our first sessions of the new year were a massive success and we're excited to be back. A huge thankyou to Carl and his team for helping us get settled in, and for putting up with the noise!

We've been re-stringing ukuleles this week. The kind folks at Frederick Hyde have supplied us with sets of coloured strings which we have put on all of the instruments we teach with on a Saturday. This makes the lessons more accessible for our younger students as it removes the processing needed to count the frets AND the strings when playing chords, and makes it easier to see the relationship between pressing on the fretboard and strumming the same coloured string. If you're a Plucky Goat student and think you might benefit from a set of coloured strings, let us know, and we can provide them to our students much cheaper than the average online price.
