The detail starts in the planning! Rather than designing restorations in insolation, the aim is to establish a smile architecture that works harmoniously with the patients face.
Shade selection is about far more than choosing how “white” the final restoration should be. The aim is not to match the ceramic directly to the eye colour, but to use the patients existing features as visual cues when determining the most appropriate shade and level of translucency.
Hand sculpting the temporary is where the smile starts to take shape. Rather than treating the temporary veneers as a simple, template based interim stage, it becomes a hands-on opportunity to physically sculpt and refine the proposed smiled directly in the mouth.
From structural blueprint to ceramic characterisation. The trial smile establish the fundamental architecture of the smile, length, width, proportions, line angles and overall tooth position. The definitive ceramics then allow those foundations to be refined. Surface texture, secondary anatomy, incisal translucency, lustre and subtle optical variations all contribute to how the restoration interacts with light.
