For this weekβs outdoor learning adventure Lyra and Pavo class spent the morning at neighbouring White Barrow Farm. We fed the animals and explored the meadow, identifying wild flowers and looking for mini-beasts. So lucky to be learning in our inspiring local area.

π Triathlon Stars in Action! π
We are so proud of all the children from Kennet Valley School who took part in the triathlon last weekend in support of charity! ππ΄π
They showed great enthusiasm, determination, and encouragement for one another during the 750m run, 50m swim and 1000m cycle events. Every child gave their best effort, cheered on their teammates, and embraced the day with huge smiles and fantastic team spirit.
Most importantly they had fun. When asked what the highlights were, the children replied βIt was great fun with all the people watching and cheering us on. It challenged us to push ourselves to our limit. We worked well as a team together.β
The children proudly brought their medals into school, and we were delighted to celebrate their success together during collective worship. π
Well done to all our amazing participants β you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We certainly are! β

This weekβs outdoor learning for Lyra and Pavo class took place at The Gourmet Goat Farmer near Avebury. The fabulous Laura taught us so much about farming in our local area and where food comes from. We took part in many hands on activities, including making butter with the goats milk, grinding wheat to make flour and meeting the goats and their newly born kids.
We are so lucky to have small, mixed age classes so we can make the most of our stunning local area.

π SATs Superstars! π
A huge well done to our amazing Year 6 children at Kennet Valley School for completing their SATs this week!
We could not be more proud of the positive attitude and determination they have shown throughout. Every morning they arrived for breakfast with smiles on their faces, ready to try their very hardest β and they certainly did that! πͺπ
Afterwards we celebrated the end of SATs in style with a party! The children designed their own decorations, decorated the table, blew up balloons, suggested songs for the music playlist, and were then surprised with pizza for lunch! ππΆπ
You have all worked so hard and should be incredibly proud of yourselves. Well done, Year 6 β we are very proud of you all! π

Active Wear for Active LearnersβοΈ
At Kennet Valley School, our active wear uniform helps children move, learn, and play comfortably throughout the day. βΉοΈββοΈ
Designed for busy school life, it gives our children the freedom to participate easily in a wide range of activities β from gardening, outdoor learning and playtime to group tasks in class, PE and after-school clubs. π±
Comfortable, practical, and less restrictive, our active wear supports active minds and active bodies every day. β½
Over the last two years we have seen many positives from the change. An active uniform supports our aim to educate the whole child as well as being more inclusive, less expensive, and simpler to remember what to wear. π

This morning, our children enjoyed a special prayer space at Fyfield church, beginning
their day with a peaceful walk through the fields in the beautiful sunshine.βοΈ
At the church, pupils took part in a range of creative activities in their house groups,
thoughtfully led by our fantastic Year 6 leaders.π Each activity was inspired by some of our school values β honesty, perseverance, sustainability, community, positivity, and identity. From decorating pebbles and crafting butterflies, to creating hearts, fingerprint art, and shaping plasticine, the children expressed their ideas in wonderfully imaginative ways.βͺοΈ
A lovely morning of reflection, creativity, and teamwork. A wonderful way to end another busy week at Kennet Valley. π€©

π·β¨ Easter Service Celebration β¨π·
We had a wonderful Easter service at West Overton Church today. The whole school came together to celebrate Easter.
Each class shared something unique, including thoughtful poems, beautiful artwork , and lovey Easter/Spring songs. Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils shared readings that told the story of Easter, and they also wrote their own prayers π to bring the service to a meaningful close.
It was lovely to celebrate with parents and members of our community. The children enjoyed walking back to school together afterwards to finish Term 4.
Wishing everyone in our school community a very Happy Easter π£ and thank you for your continued support.
