πŸ’¦β˜€οΈ A Fantastic Way to End the School Year! β˜€οΈπŸ’¦

What a truly memorable end to another wonderful year at Kennet Valley Primary School!

Our amazing Year 5/6 children organised a series of fundraising events ending with a brilliant "Soak the Teacher" in support of Cancer Research. We are delighted to announce they raised an incredible Β£418. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support such a worthwhile cause.

Five brave teachers stepped up to the challenge and were thoroughly drenched with buckets of ice-cold water before the excitement continued with a whole-school water fight! πŸ’§

The playground was filled with squeals of laughter, screams of excitement, and plenty of smiles as everyone enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon together. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of a fantastic school year and create some special memories.

A huge thank you to our wonderful pupils, staff, and families for making this year so special. We wish our entire Kennet Valley School community a happy, safe, and relaxing summer holiday.

🌞 See you all in September! 🌈

πŸ” Museum Magic & Memorable Moments! 🦴

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the school year! 🌟
Our whole school enjoyed an exciting trip to Oxford, visiting the Natural History Museum and the Pitt Rivers Museum.
The children loved exploring the fascinating artefacts and discovering exciting displays that brought history and science to life. There was so much to see, learn, explore and talk about!
At lunchtime everyone enjoyed a picnic in the park under some trees ,where there was lots of chatter about our day.
The day was filled with laughter, smiles and lots of enjoyment from start to finish.
A huge thank you to The Friends of Kennet Valley for helping to support the cost of the trip. Your generosity enabled the children to enjoy such a fantastic educational experience and create memories that will last a lifetime.

πŸŽ‰πŸŒŸ Fantastic Fundraising Fun! πŸŒŸπŸŽ‰
Last week, our amazing Year 5/6 class at Kennet Valley organised a fantastic fundraiser in support of Cancer Research.
There was something for everyone to enjoy, including a break time tuck shop selling fruit and biscuits, beautiful jewellery stalls, delicious cakes, fun games like Guess the Sweets in the Jar, and the ever-popular Teddy Tombola! 🧸🍰
The event was brilliantly organised, and the rest of the school had a wonderful time taking part in all the activities while raising money for such a worthwhile cause.
The fundraising doesn't stop there! To help raise even more money for Cancer Research, the whole school will be taking part in a sponsored obstacle course this week, finishing at the end of term with the exciting chance to soak the teachers! πŸ’¦ We can't wait to cheer everyone on and see who ends up getting the wettestβ€”all while supporting an incredible cause.
A huge congratulations to Year 5/6 for all their hard work, enthusiasm, and teamwork. You should all be incredibly proud of what you've achieved.
A special thank you to Mrs Alexander for supporting and encouraging the children throughout the planning and organisation of this fantastic event. Your guidance helped make the events such a great success. πŸ₯°
Thank you to everyone who has supported this fantastic fundraising effort! We will let you know the total soon!

A huge well done to our Year 6 pupils for leading the whole-school warm-up πŸ’ͺ and to all our children for showing amazing team spirit by cheering each other on every step of the way! πŸ‘

🍴 πŸ₯§ Tart-tastic Creations in Columba Class! πŸ“πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

Our Year 3 & Year 4 children at Kennet Valley had a fantastic time in their DT lesson this week, becoming budding chefs for the day!! After designing their own delicious pastry tarts using locally sourced seasonal fruits and vegetables, they carefully followed their recipes, measured their ingredients, and brought their tasty ideas to life.

The highlight of the lesson? Sampling and evaluating their tasty creations! πŸ˜‹

The wonderful aromas drifting through the school had everyone wondering what was cookingβ€”they definitely made the rest of the school feel very hungry!
Well done Year 3 & Year 4, for showing such fantastic teamwork, listening skills, and enthusiasm. We think we’ve got some future chefs in the making! πŸ‘πŸ½οΈ

Our Year 5/6 pupils had a fantastic time at the Athletics Festival at Marlborough College last week. πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

The children took part in four events: throwing, jumping, sprinting and the 600-metre long-distance run. They showed great determination, enthusiasm and effort throughout the day. ⭐️

What was especially pleasing to see was the wonderful support they gave one another. Pupils cheered each other on, offered encouragement and celebrated each other's achievements, helping everyone to do their very best. πŸ‘

A fun-filled morning with lots of smiles, teamwork and sporting spirit. Well done to all involved! 😁

β›ͺYear 6 Leavers’ Service at Salisbury Cathedralβ›ͺ

Last week, our Year 6 children joined pupils from other schools across the Diocese at Salisbury Cathedral for the Year 6 Leavers’ Service.

Together, we sang hymns and songs, shared prayers, and reflected on the wonderful journey our children have had throughout their primary school years. We were especially delighted that some of our pupils had the opportunity to be actively involved in the service, including leading the procession, lighting a candle, reading prayers they had written and carrying our school banner.

It was a very proud and emotional occasion as we celebrate all they have achieved throughout their time at Kennet Valley and prepare them for the next exciting chapter of their education as they transition to secondary school.

For this week’s outdoor learning adventure Lyra and Pavo class spent the morning at neighbouring White Barrow Farm. We fed the animals and explored the meadow, identifying wild flowers and looking for mini-beasts. So lucky to be learning in our inspiring local area.

🌟 Triathlon Stars in Action! 🌟

We are so proud of all the children from Kennet Valley School who took part in the triathlon last weekend in support of charity! πŸŠπŸš΄πŸƒ

They showed great enthusiasm, determination, and encouragement for one another during the 750m run, 50m swim and 1000m cycle events. Every child gave their best effort, cheered on their teammates, and embraced the day with huge smiles and fantastic team spirit.

Most importantly they had fun. When asked what the highlights were, the children replied β€œIt was great fun with all the people watching and cheering us on. It challenged us to push ourselves to our limit. We worked well as a team together.”

The children proudly brought their medals into school, and we were delighted to celebrate their success together during collective worship. πŸ…

Well done to all our amazing participants β€” you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We certainly are! ⭐
