📣 VOLUNTEER SCHOOL GOVERNORS WANTED
Could your experience help make a difference to the education and future of a young person?
The Becklands School, together with our satellite site Millbrook Horizons, is looking to strengthen our governing body by welcoming passionate and committed Volunteer Governors.
We are a specialist independent provision supporting neurodiverse young people and those with social, emotional and mental health needs, who may have experienced significant barriers to education.
Our students need an approach that recognises the individual, builds trust and creates meaningful opportunities to re-engage with education, develop confidence and achieve their potential.
💙 We’re looking for people who:
• Are passionate about helping young people access, attend and engage with education
• Have knowledge or experience of neurodiversity and/or social, emotional and mental health needs
• Understand some of the barriers young people with additional needs can experience within education
• Have a genuine interest in improving opportunities and provision for young people within the local community
• Believe in inclusive, individualised education
• Can bring constructive challenge, fresh ideas and professional or lived experience to our governing body
• Are willing to give their time on a voluntary basis to help shape and support the future of our provision
Experience within education is welcomed, but it isn't essential. We would also love to hear from people from health, social care, safeguarding, business, HR, finance, community organisations or other backgrounds who have relevant knowledge, experience or a genuine desire to improve opportunities for young people locally.
