Today in the Gnomes for healthy eating week we tried some new vegetable, this helps to develop our senses of taste, smells and textures we tried swede, sweet potatoe, sprouts and avocado.

Today in the Kelpies we got ready for tonight's England football match. The children made footballs by blowing paint and bubbles and printing onto paper. Some of the children also made great attempts to draw the England flag. Our tuff tray was set up as the England flag and we matched the different blocks onto the design. This links to our Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Expressive Arts and Design as well as our Physical Development.

Check out our new mud kitchen!!! Thankyou so much to Spen and John (our handymen) for building this amazing mud kitchen for us ! We really enjoyed making a BIG mess this morning pretending to make soup and mud pies supporting our imagination, physical development as well as communication and language

Today in the imps we have been doing about healthy eating week so we did sensory play with the water and used cucumbers for Lily pads and sang songs about the frogs and talked about colours and what they felt like. This covered many areas of the eyfs

In the Elves today we practised our fine motor skills, colouring a range of different fruits and using the scissors to cut out the fruit, we spoke about the colours the children were using and what foods were healthy or unhealthy. This links with our healthy food topic and working on some of the children's next steps for using tools safely. No fingers were harmed in the making of this post!

The Kelpies enjoyed getting very crafty this afternoon in designing their own footballs ! We used a variety of craft to further our expressive arts and design development ⚽

⚽Yesterday the Kelpies began football week in celebration of the beginning of the world cup!! We had a tricky number matching game to complete. Counting and identifying the numbers, copying the correct number of dots and then finding the right number on the ball! Really promoting our mathematics and fine motor skills!! ⚽

The imps had a great time making healthy plates using paint and fruit for healthy eating week. We talked about the names of the fruit and the colours. This helped to develop creative and communication skills. It also promotes understanding the world. 🍊🍐🍎
