Congratulations and well done to TMWS Year 8 student Jonathan who competed in the UK Special Olympics last week, swimming with his team Humber Sharks. He came away with 1 gold and 3 bronze medals with 3 personal best times. 👏👏👏

Thanks to everyone who supported Jonathan with fundraising for this event earlier in the year. 💙

Here is what Lydia Smith former Market Weighton School student had to say about her time at Wyke,

"My favourite part of studying Geography at Wyke was exploring real-world places and events through case studies. During my time at college, I completed the Carbon Literacy Certificate, developing my understanding of climate change alongside valuable teamwork and problem-solving skills. I also completed an EPQ, strengthening my research and independent study abilities, and took part in the Year 1 podcast group, which improved my confidence in debating and discussing wider issues.

As a member of the Wyke 2nd Netball Team for two years, I developed strong teamwork and communication skills. One of my proudest achievements was helping the team reach its furthest-ever stage in the cup competition.

I am progressing to study Architecture at Loughborough University, and Geography has provided an excellent foundation through its focus on sustainability, climate, and the relationship between people and the environment.

My advice to future students is to get involved in as many enrichment opportunities as possible to build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills."

Students Running the School Walk half marathon route for Cancer Research UK this September.

Following the success of last year James Smith, now in Year 11, and several friends including Alfie and Harvey have asked to raise money for Cancer Research UK by running the School Walk route. The students and staff have been training over the Summer and will complete the run in the week leading up to the annual School Walk on Friday 4th October 2026.

Elliott and Isaac are both celebrating great results and are both planning to study at Wyke 6th Form College. Perhaps unsurprisingly both achieved a grade 9 in Drama as both boys have entertained us throughout their 5 years at TMWS in musical productions and shows. Isaac is focusing on performing arts with Elliot picking up a wider range of A level subjects.

Like many of our students both have taken full advantage of extra curricular opportunities at TMWS and leave with much more than just excellent GCSE results. In addition to drama both achieved grade 9 in English Literature and grade 7 and 8 in several other subjects. Well done boys 👏💙😊

Congratulations to Alfie on being the first TMWS student to achieve a double grade 9 in combined science! In addition he achieved grade 8 in Religious Studies and Spanish along with several other grade 7s including English and maths.

Alfie is progressing to Wyke 6th Form College to study A levels in Psychology, Religious Studies and Criminology.
