Morning all,
There is a Level 3 Heat Wave warning that has officially been issued by our Local Authority.
I would just like to reassure you that we at Rainbow ensure children drink regularly, water is freely available throughout the day. All children have water bottles. Adults prompt children and each other to stay hydrated.
We are also lucky enough to have 2 air conditioning units in our classroom. Therefore, this is adapted and monitored by all staff accordingly.
Our outdoor area is undercover with protective sheeting, protecting everyone from sunburn. However, it still gets hot under there. With this in mind, we play outside (under cover) for short bursts at a time whilst this weather is so hot.
Please apply suncream on your child before starting preschool, send a hat, drink (we refill during the day) and dress them in cool comfortable clothing - light clothing.
We can all still enjoy the sunshine, just please stay safe. Heat is exhausting and can be dangerous.
