A day of pride at Welland Park Academy.
Today we celebrate the achievements of our Class of 2026, whose hard work, resilience and determination have culminated in an outstanding set of GCSE results.
With 230 Grade 8 and 9s achieved, exceptional outcomes in English and Mathematics which are significantly above recent local and national averages, and almost all students securing their first-choice destinations, there is so much to celebrate.
Behind every result is a story of dedication, perseverance and growth. Whether excelling in the classroom, representing the school in sport, performing on stage, leading others or contributing to our community, this year group has embodied the very best of Welland Park Academy.
Congratulations to all our students, and thank you to our families, staff and governors for the support that helped make today possible.

GCSE Results Day 2026
Good luck to all of our amazing Year 11 students who will be collecting their GCSE results on Thursday 20th August!
No matter what your results may be, we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved during your time at Welland Park Academy. Your hard work, resilience, determination and personal growth deserve to be celebrated.

THAT’S A WRAP FOR SUMMER CAMP 2026!
What a way to finish the week... Festival Friday absolutely delivered!
Our final day was colourful, loud, bouncy, bubbly and very hot, but that didn’t stop our amazing Summer Campers from having an incredible time!
Inflatables kept everyone entertained all day with the 42ft obstacle course, bouncy castle and penalty shoot-out. The queues never stopped, and neither did the laughter!
The Granny Pants Game was an unexpected highlight and a huge success! Watching children trying to catch beach balls while standing inside giant clown trousers was an absolutely hilarious sight. The laughter could be heard across the field and there were smiles everywhere!
Giant Garden Games including Connect 4, Jenga and Ball in a Bucket brought plenty of friendly competition.
Sparkles were everywhere, with face glitter and glitter tattoos proving to be one of the most popular attractions of the day.
Bubbles filled the air as campers created giant floating masterpieces, accompanied by plenty of squeals of excitement.
A huge thank you to DJ Tom, who kept the festival vibes going all day with an amazing soundtrack.
Lunchtime was a real treat thanks to our visiting pizza truck, serving delicious hot pizzas before everyone cooled down with a well-earned ice lolly.
The grand finale was our spectacular Colour Run, with all three groups dashing through clouds of colourful powder before coming together for one final vibrant group photo!
We are incredibly proud of all our campers. Throughout the week they have embraced new experiences, explored a new school, met new people and coped brilliantly with the soaring temperatures.
A special thank you to the 11 current students who gave up part of their summer holiday to support the week. You were fantastic role models and ambassadors for Welland Park Academy.
And finally, thank you to our wonderful staff team: Mrs Burgess and Mr Hardy for organising the week, alongside Miss Harrison, Miss Milverton, Mrs Goulborn, Mrs Dovey, Mrs Draper, Miss Draper, Mrs Smith and Miss Hoinville, who have been absolute superstars from start to finish.
We can't wait to welcome our Summer Campers back, along with all of our new Year 7 students, on 26th August 2026.

SUMMER CAMP 2026 - DAY 4!
What a fantastic penultimate day at Summer Camp!
Today was all about confidence, friendship and fun, and our groups certainly delivered!
Swiftie Session - Creativity was flowing as everyone designed and made friendship bracelets. Some kept their creations as special souvenirs, while others shared them with friends. There were plenty of conversations about colours, shapes and designs, along with some very serious bead-swapping negotiations along the way!
Off The Grid - No screens, no devices… just good old-fashioned fun! From Monopoly and Jenga to Tapple, Pictionary and even Chicken vs Hot Dog, there was something for everyone. The loudest laughs of the day may just have come from those attempting Twister in the corridor!
Get Your Boogie On - The competition kicked off with Bingo, proving just how competitive some of our youngsters can be! Then it was time for Just Dance, and we've seen plenty of energy, enthusiasm and impressive moves as participants left it all on the dancefloor.
With temperatures remaining high, all groups stayed indoors at lunchtime where they could enjoy a film in the Octagonal Hall, social time in the Dining Hall, or burn off some energy in the Sports Hall. Most importantly, everyone stayed cool and out of the direct sunshine.
And now... the countdown is on!
Tomorrow is FESTIVAL FRIDAY and we cannot wait! Our staff team has been secretly planning a whole range of surprise activities and the groups have absolutely no idea what's coming next.
One more day to go. One more day of memories, laughter and fun!

SUMMER CAMP - DAY 3... AND WHAT A DAY IT WAS!
The transformation in our future Year 7s is incredible to see!
Friendship groups are growing, confidence is building, nerves are fading, and the chatter and laughter around the academy are getting louder by the day.
Today, students stayed in the groups they formed yesterday and took part in a series of activities designed to boost confidence, develop teamwork and build new friendships.
Orienteering Challenge - Armed with maps and determination, teams set off around the school hunting for clues. Working together to navigate, solve puzzles and unscramble letters, it became a race back to base to claim victory!
Quiz & Karaoke - We discovered some fantastic talent today! After testing their knowledge in a team quiz (with prizes for the winners!), students took to the microphone for karaoke. A real highlight was watching one previously shy student step up and sing her heart out. The confidence shown was amazing!
Welland Pantry Conversations - Students took part in a fun rotating discussion activity, chatting with different classmates and answering a range of questions. It was a brilliant way to get everyone talking, listening and making new connections.
Over sweet and savoury treats, students shared any worries about starting secondary school, explored strategies for managing anxiety, learned the 3-3-3 grounding technique, and even wrote letters to their future Year 11 selves.
Keeping cool with the temperatures rising, youngsters enjoyed the first half of The Sheep Detectives movie in the Octagonal Hall at lunchtime, giving students a chance to relax and cool down.
The growth we've seen in just three days has been fantastic. Seeing friendships blossom and confidence flourish is exactly what Summer Camp is all about.

Summer Camp 2026 is off to an AMAZING start!
We welcomed 100 excited new Year 7 students to Welland Park Academy Summer Camp yesterday, all ready to meet staff, make new friends and start finding their way around their new school.
Day 1 was all about getting to know each other, building confidence and having fun. There were plenty of team-building games, lots of laughter, lots of chatting and plenty of new friendships beginning to form. By the end of the day, everyone was happily exhausted! The students voted for their afternoon film and relaxed together with the Minecraft Movie.
Day 2 has been all about stepping out of comfort zones and meeting new people. Students have been split into smaller groups and have been enjoying activities across our Design Department:
Smoothie Making in Food Technology, learning about hygiene, cleanliness and knife safety before blending their own delicious fruit smoothies.
Mandala Windchimes in Art, creating colourful, sparkly masterpieces while chatting and making even more new friends.
Tie-Dye T-Shirts in Textiles, with music playing, plenty of singing along and some wonderfully creative (and messy!) designs taking shape.
With temperatures rising, we're keeping a close eye on the weather and have already moved some activities into our air-conditioned areas. We are also introducing lunchtime movies so students can enjoy a cool, comfortable space during social times.
The smiles, laughter and growing friendships have been wonderful to see. We can't wait to share more adventures from the rest of the week!

Christmas? In August?!
We know, we know... the summer holidays are only halfway through! But fundraising doesn't take weekends off, doesn't clock out at 5pm, and definitely doesn't get a six-week summer break!
While everyone else is enjoying ice creams and sunshine, we're already thinking about twinkly lights, festive treats and Christmas shopping... because planning these events starts early!
This year's Annual Christmas Market Trip is heading to LONDON!
And this time, you're not tied to just one market. London is packed with festive favourites, so you can create your own Christmas adventure! Whether you fancy:
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland
Covent Garden's spectacular decorations
Christmas by the River near Tower Bridge
Southbank's festive food and market stalls
Leicester Square's charming Christmas market
Greenwich's historic festive market..or even a day exploring Oxford Street, Carnaby Street, Camden or Notting Hill, the choice is yours!
