Our Year 3 children had a wonderful afternoon planting bulbs and colourful plants in our window baskets!

I'm sure you'll agree they look fantastic and have really brightened up the outside of our classrooms.

Now we can't wait to see the bees buzzing around enjoying the flowers over the coming months, and we're already looking forward to watching the bulbs emerge and bloom next year. 🐝

A huge well done to our brilliant Year 3 gardeners for helping make our school an even more beautiful place to learn! 🌱🌼

A special thank you to our wonderful MSA team for their support this – we really appreciate all of your help in making this activity possible.

And also, a very big thank you to our fabulous pupils who built and donated a bee hotel and it has been installed in the new forest school area 💚

Year 5 Rowan recite The Highwayman

The children in Year 5 have been studying The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. This poem has it all-intrigue, romance, dark moonlit nights, jealousy, death, sacrifice and a ghostly reunion. The children have been brilliant at reading it and trying to convey the emotions within it over the past few weeks.

Butterflies in Pine Class

🦋 Pine Class Butterfly Journey 🦋

Pine Class have loved learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly! We were incredibly lucky to have real-life caterpillars in our very own butterfly house, giving the children the opportunity to observe each stage of the transformation up close.
To support our learning, we created a special Caterpillar Station in the classroom where the children could watch the entire process unfold. From tiny, wriggling caterpillars to chrysalises and finally Cabbage White butterflies, the children were very excited to come in each morning to see if they had emerged from their chrysalises.

This hands-on experience encouraged curiosity, patience, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. Seeing the butterflies emerge was a magical moment for everyone and a wonderful way to bring our learning to life! If you look closely in the last picture you can see the butterfly flying away!

🌿🐛➡️🦋 We are so proud of the enthusiasm and wonder shown by Pine Class throughout this exciting learning experience.

Year 1 Design & Technology – Sewing Hand Puppets🧵

Our Year 1 children have been busy developing their sewing skills as part of their DT unit on designing and making hand puppets.

The children began by evaluating some fantastic pig puppets made by our Year 4 pupils, discussing what they liked about the designs and how they were constructed. They then planned their own puppet designs and practised the running stitch using binca to develop their confidence and sewing skills.

The highlight of the project was welcoming our wonderful families into school to support the children as they brought their designs to life. Working together, the children carefully sewed, decorated and assembled their puppets, showing great perseverance, creativity and pride in their work.

We could not be prouder of the amazing puppets they created or the enthusiasm they showed throughout the project. A huge thank you to all of our wonderful families who gave their time to support the children - it was lovely to see such fantastic teamwork and community spirit in action!

Our children in year 3 have loved using Minecraft Education in their computing lessons to recreate some of Market Harborough’s most iconic landmarks, including The Old Grammar School, St Dionysius Church, and the old Market Square. Their creativity, teamwork and attention to detail have been fantastic to see!

We were baking! Last week, Year 5 in the heat, worked exceptionally hard to complete their Design and Technology Food unit. They planned, prepared and made jam tarts twice - first a prototype and then their final batch to take home and enjoy. Well done Year 5!

Story Imagin-ory Visit for Foundation Stage

✨ A Magical Afternoon of Storytelling! ✨

On Tuesday the children enjoyed a wonderful visit from Story Imagin-ory an immersive storytelling experience that brought the traditional tale of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and others to life!

The children listened carefully as the story was told and were captivated by the engaging puppet show, watching the characters come alive before their eyes.
Afterwards, the children had the opportunity to explore a range of toys and enjoy sharing books based on other traditional tales. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with imagination, creativity, language development, and a love of reading.

Thank you to Story Imagin-ory South Leicestershire for providing such a memorable and magical experience for our children! 📚🐐🌉✨
