/ PLANTS ON THE PAVEMENT / The hugely popular Plants on the Pavement is now up and running outside 50 Main Street in Medbourne. The event will be raising funds for Medbourne Pre-school. Do come and have a look at the variety of plants on offer. New plants will be added most weeks so there will be an increasing range of stock as Spring progresses.

Grateful thanks to everyone who has already donated.

This is always an excellent fundraising initiative for our Pre-school, please spread the word to friends and families to support this event.

/ NEW CLUB SQUIRRELS FOR 4-5 YEAR OLDS COMING TO MEDBOURNE /

1st Welland Valley Scouts are launching a Squirrel Section for 4-5 year olds after Easter to run on Mondays, 5.15- 6pm at Medbourne Village Hall. Every week, Squirrels will gather to grow and learn their way through lots of different games and activities. Sessions will be packed with outdoors activities, fun, games, badges, laughter, and so much more to help our youngest members learn the skills they need for life. Squirrels can achieve anything they set their minds to – and they have lots of fun along the way. The sessions will be a brilliant opportunity for young people and adult volunteers to take their first step into being part of Scouts. As well as 4-5 year olds, the Squirrel Section will include some 14-18 year olds as Young Leaders, possibly working towards DofE awards and parent volunteers.
Debbie Billington, lead volunteer for Harborough District said “Volunteering will help us bring every day adventure, fun and challenge to even more young people in the area. This will support and challenge more young people to discover new talents, reach their potential and become active members within their communities. During the pandemic we have grown our youth membership but our waiting lists have grown even more. We can only offer more places to young people if we have the corresponding adult volunteers. It’s not only leaders to work directly with young people that we need but help with
admin, book-keeping and record keeping. And what’s more we know that volunteering with the Scouts is good for you.”

Huge thanks to those of you who support us through Easyfundraising, we currently have 63 supporters who have raised over £1,600 to date!

Over 4,000 shops and sites donate to us when you use easyfundraising to shop with them. Retailers include Boots, John Lewis, M&S, Argos, Currys PC World, Ebay and you can use it for anything from Christmas shopping to purchasing insurance.

It’s very easy to set up and doesn't cost you a penny. Just follow these simple steps:
1. Log onto www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/medbourneplaygroup and register as a customer, and then:
a. When shopping online using a computer you can download a “Donation Reminder” button which pops up each time you visit a registered shopping website (this also highlights registered websites on Google search)
b. When shopping using a phone/tablet you can download the App which has links to all the stores.

/ GOODBYE AND GOOD LUCK /
Today is our last day of term and we say goodbye to the children who are starting school after the holidays. It has been a real privilege to help them become such joyful, inquisitive little learners and we wish them all happy and exciting times ahead.
We thank all our parents/families for your wonderful support throughout the year.

/ ABOUT US /
🔴 We are a very well established group in a beautiful rural setting.
🟠 Our Preschool runs in Medbourne Village Hall, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 09:15 - 15:15, term time only (morning and/or afternoon sessions are available).
🟡 We are registered with Ofsted and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage.
🟢 We care for up to 24 children from 2 to 5 years of age.
🔵 There are 5 members of staff, most with (now grown-up!) children of their own.
🟣 We provide a happy, friendly atmosphere, enabling children to achieve their potential by learning through play.

This term we have been learning about Minibeasts! The children have observed tadpoles and caterpillars and have learnt about their respective life cycles. We have added a variety of mini beasts to our frieze and they have explored our minibeast garden with enthusiasm! 🐝🐛🦋🐌🐞
