Our glass drawing board is such a lovely addition to the garden at Farndon and one the children absolutely love using.

It gives them the freedom to get creative, make marks, mix colours and use their imaginations on a much bigger scale – all while building those important early writing and fine motor skills without even realising it.

There’s something extra exciting about being able to paint straight onto the glass too… especially when you can wipe it clean and go again! 🎨

We’re hiring at Country Kids Farndon 📣

We’re looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our lovely Preschool team.

It’s a 40-hour, term-time only role, working with our preschool children and helping them learn, grow in confidence and get ready for that next big step to school.

We’d love to hear from someone who’s caring, enthusiastic, full of ideas and loves getting stuck into nursery life – whether that’s messy play, outdoor adventures, story time or answering the 100th “why?” of the day!

For our babies, play is all about discovering how things work. 🔍

Picking pieces up, turning them around, feeling the different textures, moving them from one place to another and seeing what happens when they push, pull or drop them, it’s all part of exploring their world. 🌍

These simple moments help develop their coordination, fine motor skills, curiosity and early problem-solving, all at their own pace.

They don’t need to build something at the end of it. Sometimes, the exploring is the learning. 🥰

A little reminder from us… please label EVERYTHING!

Jumpers, coats, water bottles, wellies, bags… if it comes to nursery, pop their name on it!

With lots of little ones (and lots of very similar belongings!) it makes it so much easier for our team to make sure everything finds its way back to the right home.

Giving our preschoolers different surfaces and environments to make marks helps keep those early writing experiences exciting and playful. 🎨

Taking it outdoors and drawing on our clear board gives the children the freedom to experiment with lines, shapes, patterns and pictures, all while developing the hand control and coordination they’ll eventually use for writing. ✍️

There’s no pressure to create something ‘perfect’ just plenty of opportunity to explore, get creative and build those important early skills through play.

A huge happy 6-year work-iversary to our wonderful Tina! 💛

Tina joined Country Kids back in September 2020 and, quite simply, we don’t know how we’d run without her!

As our Finance Manager across all of our Country Kids sites, Tina works incredibly hard behind the scenes keeping everything (and everyone!) organised.

And while she’s primarily based at Sleaford, our teams across the nurseries absolutely LOVE it when Tina comes to visit… not least because she very rarely arrives empty-handed! 😂 There’s usually a bag in tow filled with muffins, doughnuts, chocolate or some other treats for the team. She certainly knows the way to everyone’s hearts! 🍩🍫🧁

But goodies aside, Tina is such a loved and valued part of Country Kids. She’s always there to help, answer a question or sort something out, and so much of what happens across our nurseries simply wouldn’t run as smoothly without everything she does behind the scenes.

Six years of Tina, and we’re very lucky to have her. 💛

Thank you for everything you do for Country Kids, Tina – here’s to many more years (and many more bags of treats! 😂)
