School mornings can feel like a lot before the day has even properly begun โ€” especially for a neurodivergent child who may already be managing transitions, sensory needs, executive functioning demands and anxiety about what lies ahead.

A few small changes can reduce the number of demands their brain has to process first thing. Preparing things the night before, keeping routines predictable, allowing extra transition time and using fewer words when stress is rising can all help make mornings feel more manageable.

It isnโ€™t about creating a โ€œperfectโ€ morning. Itโ€™s about removing some of the pressure points where we can.

If you would like a copy of my BiteSize Guide to Back to School for the Neurodivergent Child, follow the page, like this post and let me know in the comments. All steps must be completed.

Returning to school after a break can be a significant adjustment for children and young people, particularly when routines, concentration and social confidence need time to rebuild.

Our latest guide supports families, carers and education professionals with practical ways to make the transition smoother.

The guide explores:
โ€ข Restoring sleep and morning routines gradually
โ€ข Creating predictability through clear expectations
โ€ข Preparing school essentials in advance
โ€ข Encouraging responsibility in age-appropriate ways
โ€ข Supporting healthy nutrition, wellbeing and self-regulation
โ€ข Reconnecting with learning, friendships and familiar routines

With expert insight from Adam Gillett, Associate Vice Principal for Personal Development at Pen*stone Grammar School, this resource offers supportive ideas to help children return to school feeling more confident and prepared.

Back to School with Asthma: Be Prepared!

As children head back to school in September, now is the perfect time to make sure their asthma is well managed. Every September, asthma attacks increase, but a few simple steps can help keep your child safe and healthy.

โœ… Book your child's annual asthma review with your GP practice
โœ… Make sure they have an up-to-date Asthma Action Plan
โœ… Check they know how to use their inhaler correctly (with a spacer if needed)
โœ… Be aware of environmental triggers, including air pollution

An asthma review helps check your child's lung health, review their treatment, and ensure they have everything they need for a successful school year.

Let's tick "Asthma Review" off the back-to-school checklist and help every child breathe easier this school term. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ† Hard work pays off!
We are incredibly proud of our pupils at Buntingsdale who were recognized today for showing exceptional resilience, kindness, and progress.
Character and effort matter just as much as high scores, and these children have truly modeled our school values this week.
We also celebrated some summer birthdays and said goodbye to some well-loved members of our school community, whose contributions will be fondly remembered.

Keep shining, everyone! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘
