Group A consisting of Cheswardine, Hinstock, Hodnet and Woore’s year 5/6 Netball competition tomorrow at Market Drayton Junior School has been postponed due to the high chance of rain. School’s have been emailed this evening to check whether this can be re arranged to Monday 7th October.

Summer HAF Programme 2022 - https://haf.shropshire.gov.uk for eligible Free School Meal children (see bottom of post for more information).

Bishops Castle (2 weeks) and Market Drayton (4 weeks) will be our two venues this summer. We can only accept online bookings and we are limited to 40 children per session. Some days have a morning with breakfast or an afternoon with lunch option!

How to Book:
1. Get your unique code either via your child/ren’s school or through a professional (the unique codes are on the flyers)
2. The bookings for the summer holidays will open on Thursday 23 June.
3. Go to https://haf.shropshire.gov.uk
4. Set up your account by adding your email and choosing a password.
5. Add your unique code (see flyer).
6. Add your child/ren’s details.
7. That’s it! You’ve signed up ready for booking!.
8. No internet? Just visit your local library with this flyer.

The code entitles child/ren to 64 hours of free holiday activity in Shropshire during the summer holiday. This is the equivalent of 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, for 4 weeks.

The code is individual to school and is not transferable to other children, who don’t attend this school.

The code is replacing the vouchers from previous holiday programmes.

HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) – Who can access the Programme?
There are free places available on the HAF programme for children and young people aged 4 (reception class age)* to 13, who:

- Receive benefits-related free school meals

Local authorities have discretion to use some of their funding to provide free or subsidised holiday club places for children and young people who are not in receipt of benefits-related free school meals but who the local authority believe could benefit from HAF provision.

These include:
- Children and young people who have been referred onto HAF by a professional.
- Children and young people assessed by the local authority as being in need, at risk or vulnerable
- Young carers
- Looked-after children or previously looked after children
- Children with an EHC (education, health and care) plan
- Children who have low attendance rates at school or who are at risk of exclusion
- Children living in areas of high deprivation or from low-income households who are not in receipt of free school meals

Children who are aged 4, who attend a nursery or pre-school are NOT eligible for the HAF programme, unfortunately the programme activities are not suitable. Eligible children aged 4+, must be in full time education and have started school in Reception Class (or equivalent).

The local authority makes the final decision on which children should benefit from the flexible funding element of their HAF funding.

Tuesday 31st May and Wednesday 1st June of our half term Football camp is now fully booked sorry. 10 places remaining for Monday.

Thank you to everyone that has returned their booking form along with payment to reserve a place. We will try to increase our capacity during the summer holidays.

We will be running a Football camp/ holiday club at Market Drayton Junior School for 3 days during half term in a couple of weeks time.

Venue:
Market Drayton Junior School

Dates:
Monday 30th May, Tuesday 31st May and Wednesday 1st June.

Times:
8:30am - 3:30pm.

Cost:
£15.00 per day or all 3 days for £40.00. VAT inclusive.

You must bring a packed lunch and a drink. Water will be available to refill bottles. Football boots and shin pads are advised as well as sunscreen/ cap if it’s very sunny.

Maximum 25 places available per day and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. To book a place you must email
[email protected] and request a booking form. We can only accept banks transfer as payment and this must be paid at the time of booking. Details will be given on booking form. Other payment options such as cash and cheque may be arranged for those that do not have access to internet banking.

Available to children that are currently in year 1 to year 6. Children can attend from any school.

Please do not contact the school office as this is an external club where the school is letting their facilities to Activsports and we are managing all payments and bookings.

This is not a HAF club.

We are delighted to announce that we have secured funding to offer free activities and a breakfast club for selected dates over the summer holidays at Market Drayton Junior School

Free school meals pupils have priority and you must evidence your voucher received from school.

We also have some extra availability for certain 'current' year groups (not new year groups next year)
Places are first come, first served and you must request a booking form and return via email only to [email protected] by the Friday of the previous week for example to book on to week 2, you must return your form by Friday 30th July.

Breakfast will be served from 8:30am, before 3hrs worth of activities will commence. Activities such as sports, arts and crafts, food tasting, team building games, den making, quizzes, as well as lots more fun activities will take place over the whole programme. Children will be kept in their year groups to ensure all activities are age appropriate and they will rotate between the 3-4 sessions that are on offer each day.
