🧸 PATT - Parents and Teachers Together 🍏

Thank you to those parents who were able to make our first PATT session a couple of weeks ago, where Mrs Goode shared some wonderful ways in which we teach our Nursery children early phonics through various games and activities.

Each session is tailored to a specific curriculum area, the next one is on mathematical language, ‘Talking about number’ 🔢🧮

Next session: Tuesday 21st March
9-10:30am

Today the children in Foundation Stage had a very special guest, a super talented and local author Jessica Carter! 🥰

Jessica was inspired during lockdown to get creative and write her own book, ‘When I Grow Up’.

The story shows how everyday play and routine inside a home can inspire children to be whoever they wish to be 💫 when they grow up 💕 It also ignites ambition in young children and encourages parents to demonstrate excellent role model behaviour 👏🏼✨

“I love this book because I want to be a nurse when I grow up” 👩🏼‍⚕️🩺

“I want to help animals” 🐰🐶

“I want to be a good detective, this book made me actually think of that that’s why I rubbed my chin when I listened” 👮🏼‍♂️🚓

⭐️🙏🏼 Your PTA needs you 🙏🏼⭐️

We are at risk of not being able to put on events at our lovely school and raise money for our children who benefit so much from these events 🥺

Last year the PTA managed to raise a huge £5058 💰💵👏🏼

Without the PTA we would not have our amazing pirate ship play area on the field and we would not have been able to develop our calming well-being area or sensory room.

Over the years the PTA have provided the children with extra forest school sessions, playground equipment, yoga mats, EYFS bikes, Christmas gifts from Santa, end of year 6 leavers gifts and so much more.

Recently they helped in purchasing brand new reading books for the whole school 📚🙏🏼 and plans are currently in place to have a new trim trail on the field 🙌🏼

The PTA is a real team effort and cannot run without support 😞 so if anyone could spare a little time to find out more about the PTA and how you can help, then please get in touch with Kirsty Louise Mitchell 🌼

HOT WEATHER

The weather forecast for next week is very hot! Please ensure children are wearing 12/24 hour sun cream and have a water bottle and sun hat. We take your child's safety very seriously and will be working hard to keep children cool and limit their time in the sun.

🕷🐭🐍ZOOLAB 🐍🐭🕷

Our Nursery children have had a fabulous morning with Chris from ZooLab. They met Casper the snake, Honey the tarantula, Princess Katie the rat and Jarvis the giant cockroach!

🔬🔭🧫STEM Week🧪🌡⚗️

Nursery have been having a great time during STEM week! Our ‘silly sock snake makers’ were a hit! The children loved their visit from Colin Furze and were inspired to build a water collection system for our planting area. We have also been learning all about trees and have been looking at differences and similarities between the leaves and bark of different types of trees.

Please remember that tomorrow is STEM dress up day. Children are invited to come in dressed as a STEM hero (for example an astronaut, doctor, nurse, vet, teacher, pilot, scientist, inventor)

We hope the children are as excited about tomorrow as we are!
